Mr. Martinez previously served as the co-founder and managing partner with SP Global Realty from 2016 to 2017, a senior housing development consultant with oNature from 2015 to 2017, a consultant with Perkins Design Corporation from 2015 to 2016 and an acquisition manager with MOJOCO Real Estate Services from 2014 to 2015.

Prior to these positions, Mr. Martinez was recruited as a senior housing development consultant for the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design and a private equity financial analyst for the Blackhawk Capital Group in 2014. He likewise refined his skills as an executive board member for the Trojan Real Estate Association in 2013, a summer analyst with Sperry Van Ness in 2013, a summer analyst for CBRE in 2012 and a public policy intern with U.S. Congress in 2011. Mr. Martinez began his career as an intern analyst with the Office of Management Consulting and Training for the National Governors Association in 2010.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Martinez pursued an education at the University of Southern California, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in public policy and real estate development in 2013. Between 2012 and 2015, he was appointed as a student ambassador at the aforementioned university. He concluded his studies at the University of Southern California in 2015, graduating with a master’s degree in urban planning. After initially garnering a wealth of knowledge in real estate and planning, Mr. Martinez was drawn to his present post after receiving the opportunity to operate in a pro-growth city that wanted to create change and improve the quality of life for his community.

Attributing his success to his drive, determination to learn and integrity, Mr. Martinez has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. In 2019, he was presented with the Gamechanger Award of Excellence from the California Association for Local Economic Development. He has also been recognized by the University of Southern California on multiple occasions, including the Dean’s Senior Certificate of Merit in 2013, inclusion on the Dean’s List in 2013 and the Staff Club Award Scholarship in 2015. Proudly able to increase the total value of Needles, California by $124 billion since 2017, Mr. Martinez hopes to further increase his knowledge of economic development while advancing in his career and his community in the coming years.
