Shirley Marion Dahl Shipley, chairman at Shipley Energy, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in energy production.
With decades of experience to her credit, Ms. Shipley has excelled as the chairman of Shipley Energy, a company that produces energy through gas, oil and turbine for customers in Ohio as well as several states across the East Coast between Maine and Virginia. Having held this role for ten years, she previously found success as the vice president for the aforementioned company over the course of 30 years, during which time she happily worked alongside her husband. Prior to these positions, she was active as a teacher with Sarasota County Schools in Florida from 1955 to 1956 and a teacher with Radnor Township Schools in Pennsylvania from 1954 to 1955. Before beginning her career, Ms. Shipley pursued an education at Cedar Crest College, from which she obtained a bachelor’s degree in 1954.
Beyond her primary responsibilities in her field, Ms. Shipley has further contributed to York College of Pennsylvania as a trustee and executive committee member, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights as a member of the national board of directors, the York Foundation as the co-chairman, and the Ocean Reef Club as the chairman of the historical society board, among other affiliations. The recipient of an honorary doctorate in 2000, she has been notably featured in Millennium Magazine, Fortune Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. She has also been selected for inclusion in the 21st edition of Who’s Who in the East as well as multiple editions of Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women. Among the many highlights of her career, Ms. Shipley is particularly proud of her service on the board for York College of Pennsylvania, having been enabled to operate in various different capacities over the course of her 32-year tenure.
