Mark C. Williams

Title: Senior Vice President of Strategy
Company: Sierra Nevada Corporation
Location: Springboro, Ohio, United States

Mark C. Williams, the senior vice president of strategy at the Sierra Nevada Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of national security.

Hailing from more than three decades of experience in his chosen field, Mr. Williams has distinguished himself as the senior vice president of strategy at the Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), an aerospace and national security contractor that collaborates with the U.S. Air Force, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and various private spaceflight companies. In this capacity, Mr. Williams is responsible for the indirect budget of the largest business area for the company, as well as setting strategic direction in both investments and project proposals. Having initially joined SNC as its director of business development in 2013, he rose to a senior-level role at the same department in 2015, and later became the vice president of aviation, strategic plans and programs in 2017, after which he rose to his current position.

Before entering the civilian sector, Mr. Williams earned distinction for more than 20 years as a member of the U.S. Air Force, during which time he attained the rank of a colonel. Throughout this period, he held leadership positions within various development programs for aviation weapons, particularly on the B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, prior to his retirement from the military.

Mr. Williams first sought a formal education at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering mechanics in 1989. Following this accomplishment, he studied at Xavier University, from which he attained a Master of Business Administration, with a focus on finance, in 1995. Mr. Williams went on to obtain a Master of Science in national defense strategy and resourcing from the National Defense University’s Eisenhower School in 2006.

Among his most cherished accomplishments, Mr. Williams is most proud to have played an instrumental role in establishing the SNC Aviation Technology Center – a 90,000-square-foot hangar that is currently being finished at Dayton International Airport. In accounting for his success, he largely credits the values imparted unto him by his family, all of whom found prosperity in their own right. Likewise, he is grateful for the tutelage of such military figures as Lt Gen Richard Reynolds, Lt Gen Charles Coolidge and James Geurts, who performed duties as the United States Under Secretary of the Navy in 2021.
