Marianne Elizabeth Nichols, global head of strategic intelligence at Invesco, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business intelligence.

Ms. Nichols is an accomplished professional in the field of strategic intelligence, cyber counterintelligence, and international affairs. She has excelled in the position of global head of strategic intelligence at Invesco Ltd., an asset management company, since 2016. Ms. Nichols is also active as a lecturer at the Sam Nunn School for International Affairs of Georgia Institute of Technology. 

After an internship at Fox News TV, Ms. Nichols began her career in earnest in 2004 as a project assistant at King & Spalding. From 2005 to 2011 she gained experience as a political analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency.  Ms. Nichols next transitioned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where she served from 2011 to 2016 as a supervisory intelligence analyst. 

Ms. Nichols earned a Bachelor of Arts in international affairs, cum laude, from Samford University, graduating in 2004. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in a study abroad program in economics and Chinese language at Yangzhou University in 2002. She continued her academic pursuits and earned a Master of Arts in public and international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh in 2007.

Throughout her career, Ms. Nichols has received several accolades for her work. She has been honored with the Exceptional Performance Award for Excellence in Analytic Tradecraft by the Central Intelligence Agency in 2007, 2009, and 2010. Ms. Nichols and her team at Invesco Ltd. have been additionally recognized by the World Economic Forum for their innovative way of approaching risks faced by today’s business organizations, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The forum acknowledged Invesco Ltd.’s Strategic Intelligence group as a model for a “hybrid, proactive, and holistic” approach to managing interconnected global risks that the outdated silo approach cannot address.

In her current role at Invesco Ltd., Ms. Nichols focuses on identifying and mitigating risks related to investments and business operations. Her responsibilities include overseeing the development of intelligence reports, conducting threat assessments, and providing strategic recommendations to senior executives. Additionally, she collaborates with external partners and government agencies to stay informed about emerging threats and trends in the industry.

Outside of her professional achievements, Ms. Nichols notably contributes to her community. She volunteers for and supports breast cancer awareness initiatives, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact beyond her professional endeavors. In her free time, she enjoys running as a hobby and prioritizes staying physically active to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
