With 16 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Hallgren has excelled as a social worker at Pepin County Department of Human Services since 2018. He began his career as a customer service representative at King Technology, Inc. in 2012. He contributed as a basketball official at Burnsville Athletic Club from 2007 to 2019, Bloomington Living Hope Lutheran Church and School since 2008, the University of Wisconsin-Stout University Recreation from 2013 to 2015, and at Select Metro Officials since 2019. He worked as a baseball coach at Bloomington Traveling Baseball Association from 2011 to 2015 before establishing himself as a foodshare employment and training consultant at Workforce Resource, Inc. from 2016 to 2018. He found success as an electrical apprentice at Tommy’s Electric since 2013.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Hallgren pursued an education at University of Wisconsin-Stout where he earned a Bachelor of Science in vocational rehabilitation, with an emphasis on criminal justice and social work, in 2015. He completed internships at Soft Landing Transition Services in 2013, Augustana Health Care Center-Hastings, now Augustana Care, in 2014, and the Neighbors of Dunn County in 2015. He is a certified social worker and a certified basketball official.

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Hallgren has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He contributed as executive director, house manager, secretary, and board member at Soft Landing Transition Services. He was a board member of the student advisory council at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and the United Way of Dunn County, and volunteered with The Bridge to Hope and the American National Red Cross.

In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Hallgren remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was the former outreach coordinator and former president of the Vocational Rehabilitation Club at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with the Chancellor’s Academic Award from the University of Wisconsin-Stout between 2012 and 2015 and received the Berg Family Memorial Scholarship in 2014.
