Throughout his career, he has been recognized as one of the Top 5 Performers in Sales multiple times. He has also contributed to the retail sector, serving as assistant front-end manager at Menards from 1999 to 2002 and as a team lead at Target from 1996 to 2000.
Beyond his professional roles, Mr. Krotz is a creative talent, having worked as a disc jockey, master of ceremony, host, and voice talent for Mr. Tunes Mobile Music from 1991 to 2003. He is also a workshop presenter for existing and startup businesses with SCORE and the Sioux City Boys Club, and a speaker in the field for Native EDGE Institutes. Before embarking on his professional path, he pursued an education at Morningside University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and economics with a minor in accounting in 2000. In 2008, he received a certificate from the American Bankers Association National Commercial Lending School at the Cox School of Business, Southern Methodist University, and earned the Certified Lender Business Banker designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association. Additionally, he completed the Ag Credit School at Iowa State University from 2003 to 2004. He also participated in management training programs with Menards and Target. He has also been associated with the American Bankers Association and is a past member of Lions Clubs International, the Optimist Club, and the Sioux City Growth Organization.
One career highlight that Mr. Krotz takes great pride in is the successful coordination of a $28 million credit for a Native American entity, which involved collaboration with top attorneys, bank management, and tribal bodies. He was able to secure the credit approval and funding in less than 28 days for a community development company, now the third largest in the nation. He attributes his success to his extensive experience in diverse banking roles, including at de novo banks and institutions with assets ranging from $150 million to $33 billion. Looking ahead, he aims to climb the corporate ladder or pivot to larger consulting deals, specializing in negotiations and property estimations. For aspiring bankers, he advises against limiting oneself to a narrow role, encouraging them to gain diverse experiences across various aspects of the industry.
