He was also managing director of TCW/Crescent from 2005 to 2012. TCW/Crescent is an investment management firm known for providing a range of financial services, including asset management, credit investing, and alternative investment strategies. The firm focuses on delivering value to its clients through a disciplined approach to investing, with expertise in managing both traditional and alternative assets across various sectors and markets.
Additionally, Mr. Turner was a board member at St Paul’s Cathedral Trust, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting the preservation, maintenance, and restoration of St Paul’s Cathedral in 2010, and a minister at the Universal Life Church. He was also a board member of American Associates for 18 Years and a board member of Scott & Associates, ITN, Quatrro Business Services, and GLOBO Language Solutions. Laying a solid foundation for his future successes, he pursued a degree at Oxford University in England, earning a Bachelor of Arts with honors in 1981. He went on to earn a Master of Arts in foreign languages and literature from the University of Oxford in England with Honors in 1982 and a Master of Business Administration in finance from New York University in 1988. Reflecting on his path, he started as a banker for small businesses, which sparked his interest in providing capital to support business growth, and he has been actively involved in this endeavor for years. He notes that his most significant achievement is creating his firm, Canterbury Mezzanine Capital, with his business partner, Nicholas Dunphy.
