With a decade of experience to his credit, Mr. Kumar has established a successful career in technology, specializing in consumer analytics. He currently excels as the vice president of consumer analytics at Citibank N.A., a position he has held since 2021. His experience also includes roles as a data scientist at Arcadis from 2019 to 2021, and as a technology officer at EnVisionUTD in 2018. He served as a boot camp instructor at The University of Texas at Dallas in 2018 and was a council member on the Business Analytics Leadership Council at the same institution from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, he was a data science intern specializing in NLP/Machine Learning at Arcadis in Washington, D.C., in 2018 and worked as a technical lead in data analytics at Arcadis in Bengaluru, India, from 2016 to 2017. Additionally, he was a participant in the National Level Football Tournament, Subrato Cup, organized by the Sports Association of India. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Technology in mechanical engineering from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, completed in 2013, and a Master of Science in business analytics from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2018.
Mr. Kumar takes great pride in his work on a water quality monitoring program for the state of New York during his time at a previous company. This program involved the New York Department of Transportation collecting data from fuel systems to monitor metrics such as flow, velocity, and water quality. He developed an anomaly detection program that pinpointed high-risk areas for water pipe bursts or contamination. This initiative significantly improved the management of the city’s water system and positively impacted many lives. He attributes his success to his curiosity and dedication to hyper-learning, which has allowed him to stay adaptable to emerging market trends.
In the coming years, Mr. Kumar aims to help the people of Dallas stay updated with the latest technology. He aspires to build a technology community that supports individuals seeking growth or learning new skills in the field. He is also interested in joining an organization where he can leverage AI and emerging technologies, such as the Internet of Things, biosensors, and mechanical sensors, to enhance people’s quality of life. Additionally, he is considering starting his own consulting business and hopes to establish himself as a respected keynote speaker in AI and GenAI. He also plans to join the advisory board of nonprofit organizations focused on AI governance, security, data policy, and privacy. Ultimately, he envisions playing a pivotal role in data governance regulation and policy planning, with a particular emphasis on data privacy.
