Mr. Puranik’s career is marked by a distinguished record of innovation and leadership across multiple continents and industries. In his current role as the chief business architect at Information Services Group (ISG), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm based in Stamford, Connecticut, since 2023, he identifies new sales opportunities, oversees teams delivering contract performance and risk services with profit and loss responsibility, governs technology solutions and roadmaps, converts services into artificial intelligence (AI) agents, and leads solution engineering, technology architecture and business development. Mr. Puranik’s expertise extends to managing AI governance, supplier relationship management, vendor governance, sourcing, procurement and third-party risk management. His proficiency in these areas is widely recognized, reflecting his commitment to excellence in the governance space, third-party risk management, solutions creation and client engagement.
Affiliated with ISG for over a decade, Mr. Puranik works from the company’s Broadlands, Virginia, location. In addition to his role as chief business architect, he has been serving as the company’s senior director since 2018, advising clients on sourcing, post-contract management and third-party risk.
Earlier, from 2016 to 2018, Mr. Puranik was a director at ISG in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, where he contributed to global projects that required a nuanced understanding of regional markets and cross-border collaboration. This position was a promotion from his original role as an assistant director between 2014 and 2016 in Bangalore. His strong focus on delivery operations and strategic growth for platform-driven services would later motivate his relocation to the U.S. to support clients domestically while expanding the business globally.
Before being recruited by ISG, Mr. Puranik worked as a senior manager at Accenture from 2010 to 2014. As a project manager at Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc. (now KBR Inc.) between 2008 and 2009 in Bangalore, he managed critical projects that deepened his experience in technology-driven environments. Among other influential roles, Mr. Puranik excelled as an assistant manager at IBM from 2007 to 2008, where he contributed to process optimization efforts. Before that, he held the role of lead at Unisys between 2006 and 2007 and as a team lead at Infosys Limited in Bangalore from 2003 to 2006. These formative positions allowed Mr. Puranik to build foundational skills in team leadership and project execution.
Apart from his full-time career endeavors, Mr. Puranik lent his expertise as a board advisor to NFTPeddle from 2022 to 2025. In this capacity, he provided strategic guidance during the company’s formative years and now supports a former colleague launching an AI firm by offering advisory support.
Mr. Puranik’s professional journey began with underwriting loans shortly after college before moving into international assignments such as addressing endowment mortgage crises in the U.K., an experience that broadened his perspective early on. This was followed by leading call center transformations integrating technology with process redesigns before progressing into project management roles overseeing global platform migrations.
Throughout his journey across Europe, including Wales and England, the U.S., Singapore, Malaysia and Australia, Mr. Puranik has consistently demonstrated adaptability and a passion for solving complex client challenges. He is particularly proud of developing a platform-driven product that grew from zero clients to over 80 clients and generated more than 60% of his business unit’s revenue. Additionally, Mr. Puranik has mentored over 40 professionals who have advanced into leadership roles worldwide. His pioneering work in AI governance solutions continues to be marketed to enterprise clients globally.
Mr. Puranik’s academic background included earning a Bachelor of Commerce in finance and financial management services from Bangalore University, earned in 2002, and the completion of a postgraduate program in analytics from Great Lakes Chennai in 2016. Beyond his primary education, he holds numerous certifications that underscore his expertise, including FPC certification from The Chartered Insurance Institute U.K., Six Sigma green belt certification from Infosys Limited, project management professional certification from the Project Management Institute, where he is also an active member, credentials in Big Data in the Age of AI, in agile foundations and, among others, in generative AI for business leaders.
Beyond professional accomplishments, Mr. Puranik actively contributes to civic causes as a volunteer with church and community organizations, as a monthly donor for Pepper International and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and as a participant in company food drives, blood donation drives and youth education programs. He draws significant satisfaction from giving back to his local community and beyond.
Among Mr. Puranik’s most significant recognitions have included induction into ISG’s Chairman’s Club in both 2016 and 2024 as well as being named an Innovation Awards Finalist by ServiceNow. He has also been honored by ISG’s Achievements Club. Earlier, he received an Extra Mile Award in 2012 and 2013 and was named a Top Talent in 2013 by Accenture. Mr. Puranik credits much of his success to working alongside exceptional mentors who invested in his growth within organizations, a factor he considers foundational, along with the support of clients, colleagues, friends and family who have encouraged him through long hours, frequent travel commitments and professional challenges.
