Before establishing Computerbilities, Mr. Pittman was the president of Orbis Cyber Security and CompuWorks Inc. for five years, starting in 1991. During this tenure, he further developed his skills in business management and technology services, laying the groundwork for his later achievements. From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Pittman held the position of vice president of operations at DSI Industries Inc.
Mr. Pittman began his professional journey in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant and 7-level aircraft weapons specialist between 1979 and 1986. During his years of service, initially enlisting for six years before extending for an additional year, he worked on F-111 and B-52G aircraft. The discipline and technical knowledge acquired during his military tenure provided a strong foundation for his subsequent endeavors in the private sector. After completing his military service, Mr. Pittman spent approximately five years working alongside his father before economic shifts in the Northeast prompted him to seek new opportunities in North Carolina.
Academically, Mr. Pittman holds an associate degree from the Community College of the Air Force and a bachelor’s degree in business from Louisiana State University Shreveport. He also completed coursework at the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Pittman’s formal education equipped him with essential business acumen and technical proficiency that have proven instrumental throughout his multifaceted career.
Mr. Pittman’s commitment to excellence extends beyond professional pursuits into civic engagement and community service. He is a dedicated supporter of The Carying Place in Cary, a nonprofit organization providing transitional housing and financial literacy programs for families experiencing homelessness. Through Computerbilities, Mr. Pittman manages all information technology requirements for The Carying Place, contributing both expertise and resources to help advance its mission.
In light of his success, Mr. Pittman has been recognized through several honors, including being named one of Industry Era’s Top 10 Aspiring Leaders in 2023 and receiving the Patriot Award from the U.S. Department of Defense. These accolades underscore his leadership qualities and enduring impact within both industry and community spheres.
