Mark L. Adams, senior director of internal controls and audit at Quipt Home Medical Corp., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in accounting.
With nearly three decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Adams has built a distinguished career in accounting, specializing in internal audit, internal control, process improvement, process re-engineering, fraud investigations, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions. Since 2022, he has served as the senior director of internal controls and audit at Quipt Home Medical. In this role, he leads a team responsible for overseeing financial controls, ensuring compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other regulations for publicly traded companies, and establishing internal controls for financial reporting, ethics, human resources, and payroll. He also provides guidance and coaching to maintain compliance and manages the execution of necessary support and evidence.
Mr. Adams’ experience also includes roles as corporate controller at Quipt Home Medical from 2020 to 2022, assistant controller of revenue operations at Paycor from 2018 to 2020, and director of internal audit at Medpace from 2015 to 2018. He also served as global director of internal audit at Trimble Navigation from 2006 to 2015, senior auditor at Ernst & Young from 2005 to 2006, and manager of reporting and compliance at Dayton Superior from 2003 to 2005. His earlier roles include controller and assistant treasurer at DT Industries from 2002 to 2003, teacher for introduction to accounting at Sinclair Community College, and service in the U.S. Air Force for 11 years. Additionally, he holds memberships with the Association of Fraud Examiners and the Institute of Internal Auditors, is involved with Crossroads Church, serves as treasurer for the homeowners’ association, and has achieved a black belt in Taekwondo. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Wright State University in 1998. He also became a certified public accountant through the Accountancy Board of Ohio in 2003, a certified fraud examiner from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in 2011, and a certified internal auditor from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in 2018.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Adams takes great pride in his distinguished military service and his professional achievements in accounting and auditing. He credits his success to his grit, hard work, and persistence, believing that he has earned his accomplishments through his own efforts and overcoming significant challenges. He also deeply appreciates the unwavering support of his wife, which has been instrumental throughout his journey. He plans to stay actively involved in his grandchildren’s lives, guiding them as they grow, and dedicate more time to his church, particularly in organizing camps and contributing to charitable causes. In his personal time, he enjoys gardening, maintaining his wooded property, fishing, spending time with family, updating rental properties, and practicing Taekwondo and kickboxing, as well as caring for his 87-year-old mother-in-law.
