Additionally, she is a member of the National Advisory Committee on the Sex Trafficking of Children & Youth in the United States. Laying a solid educational foundation, Ms. Shehan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice from La Salle University in 1999. She has also completed several certificates, including Communicating about Culturally Sensitive Issues, Creating Psychological Safety for Diverse Teams, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Inclusive Leadership, Managing a Diverse Team, Skills for Inclusive Conversations, and Unconscious Bias, all through LinkedIn Learning. Additionally, she holds a High-Performance Leadership Certificate from Cornell University and an Executive Leadership Certificate from Cornell University. She takes great pride in having established two remarkable teams from scratch, the sex offenders trafficking team in 2006 and the child sex trafficking team in 2011. These teams have since flourished, each consisting of at least 20 dedicated staff members. She attributes her success to her unwavering dedication to the mission and her passionate commitment to serving children.
