Brian Delozier Slocum, MST, CPA, corporate tax senior at The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, also known as Freddie Mac, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in accounting and taxes.
Mr. Slocum celebrates his professional success as a corporate tax senior for The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, commonly referred to as Freddie Mac. He has gained nearly two decades of experience in finance and accounting, beginning his career at Baker Tilly, formerly known as Beers & Cutler PLLC. Since then, he has worked for notable institutions such as Goldman Sachs and MorganFranklin Consulting and became a certified public accountant (CPA) in 2011.
At Freddie Mac, Mr. Slocum balances projects and inter-office communications with the tax legal team and auditors. He has handled areas of corporate and state tax as well as the taxation of controlled foreign corporations and stress-testing banks in his prior jobs. The constantly evolving nature of his work requires him to remain diligent and flexible, and he attributes his success to a dedication to his field, hard work and perseverance.
Mr. Slocum’s career path has been a journey of exploration and discovery. He initially studied computer science at Virginia Tech but found that the career was not a good fit for him. He ultimately achieved a Bachelor of Science in finance and accounting and a Master of Science in tax.
In the coming years, Mr. Slocum aims to engage in consulting work and is considering a public service role at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He plans to remain in the tax field but intends to broaden his experience to encompass emerging industries and technology. Fields such as cybersecurity interest him, as he has previous experience with computer technology.
