As a partner in state and local tax at PKF O’Connor Davies in the New York City Metropolitan Area since 2026, Ms. Moderski has been excelling in assisting taxpayers preparing to sell or acquire businesses, providing advisory guidance on mergers and acquisitions, and consulting with a diverse range of industries within the firm. She also advises middle-market businesses, private equity sponsors and closely held companies on multistate tax planning, state tax controversy, pass-through entity taxation and comprehensive tax consulting. Ms. Moderski’s clients regard her not only as a trusted adviser but also as a confidante who offers guidance beyond traditional accounting matters.

Before joining PKF O’Connor Davies, Ms. Moderski served as a partner in state and local tax at EisnerAmper from 2025 to 2026, where she provided high-level advisory services while mentoring team members and supporting the professional development of future accountants. Ms. Moderski first served as a tax senior manager at EisnerAmper from 2021 to 2022 before spending a few years as the director of state and local tax for the firm between 2022 and 2025.

Ms. Moderski’s earlier tenure included her employment with EY as a tax manager from 2018 to 2020, then as a tax senior manager until 2021, having originally launched her professional career with the organization as a tax accountant between 2012 and 2014. Additionally, she gained experience at Deloitte in New York City as a tax senior from 2015 to 2016 and subsequently as a tax manager until 2017. Each position contributed significantly to Ms. Moderski’s comprehensive understanding of the accounting industry and solidified her reputation for technical excellence.

In preparation for her future, Ms. Moderski’s academic foundation began with an Associate of Science in business administration, summa cum laude, from Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey, in 2010. She continued her education by earning a Bachelor of Science in accounting, summa cum laude, from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in Newark in 2012. Her rigorous coursework and academic achievements laid the groundwork for Ms. Moderski’s technical expertise and commitment to excellence that have defined her career. Additionally, she has held certifications as a licensed certified public accountant in both New York and New Jersey since 2014, which have enabled her to provide authoritative guidance across multiple jurisdictions.

Ms. Moderski’s professional affiliations include membership in the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, among others. These associations have provided valuable opportunities for networking and ongoing professional development.

Apart from her work-related endeavors, Ms. Moderski’s civic involvement has included volunteering with Junior Achievement USA since 2015, where she contributes to youth education initiatives. She is also active with Assumption Church and serves as a treasurer for a local chapter of Scouting America. These commitments reflect Ms. Moderski’s dedication to community service beyond her professional responsibilities.

Throughout her career, Ms. Moderski has distinguished herself by focusing on making a meaningful impact on the future of accounting rather than viewing her work solely as a profession. Recognizing the male-dominated nature of the field, she is committed to supporting those entering the profession, especially women, and helping them understand how they can succeed. Ms. Moderski’s passion for developing others is evident in her mentorship of colleagues and her efforts to address the industry’s shortage of accounting professionals.

Ms. Moderski attributes much of her success to overcoming doubt from others regarding her abilities, particularly related to communication skills. She credits these challenges with fueling her determination to excel professionally. A significant influence on Ms. Moderski’s career also included the executive director at EY, who provided mentorship and invaluable support during formative years in the profession.

Looking ahead, Ms. Moderski aims to build a network group that enhances her profile within state and local tax while continuing to mentor future leaders in accounting. She seeks to foster collaboration and continuous learning within the profession while delivering exceptional service to clients. Furthermore, Ms. Moderski strives to leave a lasting impression by building trust-based relationships with clients that extend beyond transactional interactions while fostering an inclusive environment where all team members feel valued and empowered.
