Before joining the AIIB, Mr. Sen was a director at Deutsche Bank AG in Singapore from 2013 to 2021. He initially worked for Deutsche Bank AG in London as an intern in 2002, then as a senior analyst between 2003 and 2005 before becoming an associate until 2006. Mr. Sen also worked for USB Investment Bank in London as an executive director of emerging markets trading from 2010 to 2013. Earlier in his career, he worked with Merrill Lynch in London as an associate, vice president and director of emerging markets trading between 2006 and 2013.
Mr. Sen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in physics from Saint Stephen’s College in Delhi, India, in 2001 and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad, India, in 2003. He also received numerous professional designations, including sustainable bond certification from the International Capital Market Association and designation as a chartered sustainable finance manager from the Chartered Institute of Professional Certifications in 2024. Other designations include accreditation from the Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore in capital markets and financial advisory services and financial markets regulations and practices and certification from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment in securities and financial derivatives. Moreover, Mr. Sen is fluent in English, Hindi and Bengali and has been studying Mandarin, Spanish and French.
Active in his professional community, Mr. Sen is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. This membership has been instrumental in his ability to remain at the forefront of his industry.
Throughout his career, Mr. Sen has garnered significant recognition for his extensive experience as a finance professional and administrator, having facilitated structured finance transactions totaling over $7 billion. Over the years, his vast experience in structuring and trading for leading investment banks has been instrumental in his success, as well as his in-depth knowledge of capital markets, loans, structured credit, leases and derivatives. Furthermore, Mr. Sen’s proficiency in managing and restructuring emerging markets’ distressed transactions, collateral recovery, and auctions under ISDA credit events for derivatives has been pivotal to his success.
