Born in the United Kingdom, she moved to the U.S. at seven, carrying a sense of wonder. She grew up in a small motel in Salem, Virginia, where she spent most of her school years. Later, Ms. Patel set out for Atlanta, which would be her home for 30 years. She rose to become a tech executive for major companies, traveling the world for work and finding endless inspiration in its beauty.

After 30 years, Ms. Patel transitioned from her tech career and moved to a coastal town in North Carolina, where she decided, in her 50s, to write a book. Her goal is to inspire young readers to find magic in everyday life.  “Life has infinite possibilities,” she says. “Take that little step toward a bigger leap each day.”
