His previous experience includes serving as broker, sales vice president, and team leader with RE/MAX Inc. from 1987 to 2005. Additionally, he owned and operated retail businesses, including a tanning salon, nail salon, and gym for five years, and worked as a sales manager for Jack Daniel’s Properties Inc. for 12 years.
Laying a strong educational foundation, Mr. Perez earned a diploma with honors from La Salle Academy in New York City and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, and operations from Manhattan University in 1966. He holds real estate broker and sales licenses in Connecticut and Vermont and is certified as both a tennis and skiing instructor. He is also actively involved in professional and community organizations, dedicating his time to the National Association of REALTORS, Connecticut Association of REALTORS, Consolidated Multiple Listing Service, New Haven Board of REALTORS, and the Greater Bridgeport Board of REALTORS. Additionally, his commitment to youth sports includes coaching girls’ JV basketball for Shelton Parks & Recreation and both varsity and JV girls’ basketball at St. Joseph.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Perez has received numerous honors, including membership in the Chairman’s Elite Team at Raveis Real Estate and the Chairman’s Club at Raveis Real Estate for two consecutive years. His accolades with RE/MAX include induction into the Hall of Fame in 2002, the Platinum Award for four consecutive years, the 100% Club for eight consecutive years, and the Executive Club for six consecutive years. Additionally, he has been honored with a Community Service Volunteer Award for his dedication to giving back to the community. Reflecting on his path, his journey in real estate began as a young man buying and selling condos in New Jersey and Long Island. He would purchase properties, renovate them, and sell them for profit. Upon moving to Connecticut, he sold those properties and continued flipping houses after obtaining his real estate license. Since then, he has dedicated his career to working as a realtor and broker, building an impressive 37-year legacy in the industry. He takes great pride in the strong reputation he has established for treating clients and colleagues fairly. He attributes his success to his genuine desire to help people by providing valuable services with integrity and professionalism.
Looking to the future, Mr. Perez plans to continue working in real estate and sharing his knowledge with his team. He feels fortunate for the opportunities his career has provided and remains committed to the work he loves. While he has no plans to retire, he envisions expanding his marketing activities to Vermont, where he plans to eventually relocate and continue his real estate career. In advising aspiring professionals, he emphasizes the importance of integrity and honesty. He recalls a recent experience where a property listed at 1,485 square feet was actually under 1,000 square feet. After verifying the tax records and identifying the discrepancy, he reinforced how such oversights can damage trust and professionalism. For him success in real estate is not about financial gain but about delivering exceptional service and adhering to the highest ethical standards.
