Mr. Pastor, a seasoned chemical engineer, has been serving as the global technology manager at Dow, one of the world’s leading materials science companies, since 2019. His position follows his role as a lead improvement manager from 2012 to 2019 and as a site manager between 2007 and 2012. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Pastor serves as the head of business technology, maintaining and improving production technology on a global scale while managing approximately 80 employees.

Before being acquired by Dow, Mr. Pastor was affiliated with Rohm and Haas, a chemical manufacturing company specializing in the specialty materials sector, for over a decade in Brazil. He began his career with the company as a process engineer in 1995, then as a senior project engineer and production and process supervisor. Mr. Pastor’s most recent position with the organization was as a production manager, where he managed plant production operations and supported sites worldwide.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Pastor gained experience as a chemical process engineer at Pennwalt Pvt. Ltd. from 1986 to 1988. He was then recruited to Givaudan as a chemical production supervisor between 1988 and 1993 and as a production manager at Resinas Yser in 1994.

Mr. Pastor’s extensive experience in site management, budget control, production, planning and scheduling has been pivotal in his career success. His decision to pivot from the production sector, which focused on fertilizers and insecticides for agricultural applications in Brazil, to the adhesive business demonstrates his diversity and long-time commitment to the field.

Possessing a rich educational background, Mr. Pastor studied in Brazil, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in chemical engineering from Mackenzie Presbyterian University in 1985 and a Master of Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in 1992. Besides his work-related accomplishments, he remains active civically through various nonprofit organizations that benefit the community. He also supports charities like the United Way and Habitat for Humanity.

Among his most notable accomplishments, Mr. Pastor successfully constructed a high-performance plant startup with a high level of automation. He and his team were able to promote high sustainability with the quality of products being offered. Attributing much of his career success to his persistence, patience and continuous learning, Mr. Pastor is eager to continue expanding his expertise and make a difference in society through his contributions to the chemicals and materials industry. He also remains steadfast about enhancing his expertise in emerging technologies and business strategies.
