KayLonni D. Bradley, director of food safety and quality assurance at Seaboard Foods, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in food safety.

With over a decade of experience, Ms. Bradley has established a successful career in food safety, specializing in humane handling and quality assurance. Since 2022, she has served as the director of food safety and quality assurance (FSQA) at Seaboard Foods, where she oversees a team of approximately 125 people. Her experience also includes roles as FSQA manager at Seaboard Foods from 2021 to 2022, regulatory food safety manager from 2016 to 2021, and production supervisor from 2012 to 2016. She also dedicates her time to supporting youth agricultural initiatives. Her family raises show lambs, providing young participants across the United States with opportunities to compete in 4-H and Future Farmers of America events, which promote agricultural education and leadership development. Additionally, she is involved with 4-H clubs, the Wild West Extension District Board, and other local youth programs.

Laying a strong educational foundation, Ms. Bradley earned an associate degree from Seward County Community College and a bachelor’s degree in food science from Kansas State University in 2011. Additionally, she is PACO-certified, a member of the American Meat Science Association, and has contributed to the SQF Edition 10 Technical Working Group. She continues to stay informed about industry developments through a dedicated corporate office and active engagement with industry groups that monitor emerging issues and regulatory changes. Reflecting on her path, she acknowledges the unique challenges of working in the traditionally male-dominated food packing industry as a young female professional. Over the past 12 years, she has witnessed significant cultural shifts within the workplace, noting positive changes in dynamics between employees and management. Inspired by the mentorship she received early in her career, she now actively supports new supervisors, helping them navigate their roles and providing guidance to ensure their success. One of her most significant achievements has been fostering stronger collaboration between the food safety and quality assurance team and the facility’s production team.

Ms. Bradley attributes her success to her unwavering dedication and the invaluable guidance she gained through mentoring relationships. She emphasizes that a mentor does not need to share the same profession or background but should provide meaningful support in fostering professionalism and growth. She also believes that what sets her apart in the industry is her deep understanding of food safety concerns, including recent recalls, and her proactive approach to addressing potential risks. By implementing preventative measures and fostering a culture of accountability, she ensures her facility operates at the highest standards, safeguarding both product quality and consumer trust.

Looking to the future, Ms. Bradley recognizes the critical importance of preventative measures in the food industry, particularly given the recent increase in recalls highlighted in the news. While such events are unfortunate, she emphasizes that no organization is immune to errors. What sets successful operations apart is their ability to identify the source of an issue accurately and address it effectively. By fostering a strong operational narrative, organizations can assure stakeholders of their resilience and commitment to safety. She is currently content with her role in food safety at Seaboard Foods and is focused on equipping her team to navigate upcoming industry changes. Her primary goal is to implement proactive strategies that prevent recalls while ensuring her facility operates at the highest level of safety and quality assurance.
