Decio Nascimento, founder and chief investment officer of Norbury Partners, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance.
Mr. Nascimento is recognized for his contributions to finance as the founder and chief investment officer at Norbury Partners in Stamford, Connecticut. Despite launching his firm in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, it proved to be a remarkable feat. Specializing in hedge fund management and sustainable macro investing, Mr. Nascimento leverages over 15 years of proven success to support his clients and ensure success.
Besides managing his firm, Mr. Nascimento has been a guest lecturer at his alma mater, Yale University, in the School of Management since 2020. He has also served as a liber project advisor at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School since 2020 and recently began guest lecturing for the University of Aukland in 2024.
Beginning his career in 2006, Mr. Nascimento worked as a securitized derivative trading analyst for Goldman Sachs before becoming an investment banking analyst from 2006 to 2008. Pivoting, he joined Verde Asset Management as a hedge fund analyst and trader. He served in the same capacity at 3G Capital. Between 2012 and 2014, Mr. Nascimento was employed by Point Break Capital Management as a portfolio manager.
In 2014, Mr. Nascimento took the opportunity to go on a sabbatical for travel and became an amateur climber. He also became active in sailing. Upon his return, he was acquired by Richmond Global Compass Investment, where he served as the company’s chief investment officer from 2016 to 2020.
Possessing a rich educational background, Mr. Nascimento received a Bachelor of Science in economics from Fundação Getulio Vargas in Brazil and a Bachelor of Science in economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science. Additionally, he received a Master of Business Administration from the prestigious Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
In addition to his degrees, Mr. Nascimento garnered several professional designations, including as an FSA credential holder through SASB Standards and certification through the algorithmic trading program from the University of Oxford.
Mr. Nascimento became an official member of the Forbes Finance Council in 2018. He has also been lending his expertise as an advisor for Ample since 2020. Moreover, he has been a council member for NationSwell since 2021 and a member of the young leaders’ circle for Milkin Institute since 2021. Most notably, Mr. Nascimento founded and has served as a board member of the Norbury Foundation since 2020. The nonprofit organization was established to make grants and impact investments in organizations and projects worldwide that demonstrate a measurable, positive impact on the environment, society and human dignity.
In light of his hard work and contributions to finance, Mr. Nascimento has received several notable accolades, including Best Discretionary Macro Strategy Hedge Fund by Bloomberg and Hedgeweek in 2022. He was also a finalist for Best Fund of the Year. Mr. Nascimento credits his good fortune to having networked with the right individuals and received mentorship from those who have helped guide him toward a profession that draws significant rewards.
