Susan Rae Ross, Senior Private Sector Engagement Advisor at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Clinical Hospital Administrator at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Healthcare.
Ms. Ross, is a dynamic global healthcare leader with experience across 15 U.S. health entities and 30 countries. She served as a senior private sector engagement advisor for the Bureau for Global Health within United States Agency for International Development (USAID) from 2015 to 2025. She has served as clinical hospital administrator for the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital since 2017, where she continues to excel in strategically overseeing the daily operations of the 600-bed teaching hospital. Throughout her tenured career, Ms. Ross has been influential in several other entities, including launching SR International, an international consulting company, where she served at the founder and chief executive officer from 2003 to 2015. Her international career included senior positions at CARE USA, between 1996 and 2003, and technical roles at USAID in Washington, Nigeria and Eritrea between 1992 and 1995. Her domestic clinical experience includes experiences ranging from intensive care, transplant, case management, utilization review, quality assurance and client throughput.
Highly educated, Ms. Ross holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh since 1984, a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois Chicago since 1991, and both a Master of Business Administration in international business and a Master of Science in management since 2001 from Tilburg University and Purdue University, respectively. She authored a book in 2012, “Expanding the Pie: Fostering Effective Non-Profit and Corporate Partnerships” via Kumarian Press. That following year, the Axiom Business Book Awards presented her with an International Business Award.
Besides her degrees, Ms. Ross received accreditation as a primary group exercise instructor in 2017 and as a certified personal trainer in 2023 through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She has been active in her industry as a board member of the Society for International Development since 2014 and a member of the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals. As she prepares for the future, she intends to continue focusing on improving healthcare system performance, both domestically and internationally, enhancing new business models to sustain quality improvement, understanding how to effectively deploy new technology / artificial intelligence (AI), and mentoring young professionals in the healthcare industry.
