Ms. Ungaro, owner of Ungaro Consulting, has been making an impact since 2011 by assisting companies nationwide with SOX compliance. Through her business, she has notably led the internal audit function for several large multinational corporations, focusing on information technology (IT) audits and other operational audit engagements. She manages numerous clients simultaneously while leading a talented team of five dedicated employees. Before launching her advisory practice, Ms. Ungaro spent over a decade in leading roles, beginning at KPMG as a senior auditor from 1999 to 2005 and in subsequent roles at Universal Electronics, Wet Seal Inc. and Quicksilver until 2016.
Leveraging her experience working for KPMG, a Big Four firm, Ms. Ungaro’s international audit expertise included work in the Netherlands, China and India. Her extensive financial reporting requirements and IT auditing knowledge, including proficiency with systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, AWS, MRI, and other cloud-based applications, have been pivotal to her continued success. Ms. Ungaro has also successfully guided management in remedying material weaknesses related to business processes and IT, including developing policies and procedures and analyzing SOC reports. She has remained abreast of industry trends as a key member of the Institute of Internal Auditors since 2012.
Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Ungaro has been active civically through her work as an active member and vice president of certifications for the Institute of Internal Auditors since 2021 after previously serving as the president of her chapter and in several other positions with the organization. She has also been a board of trustee for Olive Crest since 2025. She also frequently visits colleges to speak to students about internal audit courses and offers students valuable internship opportunities. Ms. Ungaro completed the paralegal program at Cerritos College and additional coursework at California State University in Long Beach. Attributing her success to her integrity and go-getter attitude, she was recognized with the Outstanding Executive Award from Advancing Women in Technology for her continued support of the industry.
