Mr. Hill has established a distinguished career spanning over 45 years in the sports broadcasting and event management industries, marked by a series of significant roles and achievements. Since 1997, he has served as the director of events for the Olympic Medical Center (OMC) Foundation in Port Angeles, Washington. In this capacity, he has coordinated multiple fundraising events each year to support the local hospital. Over nearly three decades, Mr. Hill’s leadership and organizational skills have been instrumental in generating vital resources for health care initiatives in the community, contributing to the foundation’s ongoing success and impact.

In addition to his work at the OMC Foundation, Mr. Hill has been affiliated with CBS Sports since 2017 as a statistician. His expertise in compiling and analyzing sports data has supported live broadcasts and enhanced the viewing experience for audiences nationwide. Mr. Hill also contributes in a freelance capacity, a role he began in 1976.

For 40 years, Mr. Hill was a statistician and supervisor at ABC Sports, beginning in 1977 and retiring in 2017 after being acquired by CBS Sports. His long-standing association with the television station allowed him to witness and contribute to many unique moments in sports history, including supporting live broadcasts and managing production teams at numerous high-profile events, including six Olympic Games on-site and one from New York. Mr. Hill was also notably involved in broadcasting the iconic “Miracle on Ice” game during the 1980 Winter Olympics, a career highlight for him.

Mr. Hill also briefly worked with NBC Sports in 2021, further solidifying his reputation within national sports broadcasting. Additionally, he worked for ESPN for several years until 2006, where he applied his statistical acumen to enhance sports coverage for a broad audience.

In preparation for his future, Mr. Hill completed coursework at the University of Washington in Seattle. He also served on the sports information officer staff for the university and worked for Don Bernstein from the university’s athletic department. When Mr. Bernstein transitioned to ABC Sports, he played a crucial role in facilitating Mr. Hill’s entry into Olympic broadcasting by ensuring his resume received due consideration during hiring for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. This mentorship evolved into a lifelong friendship that shaped Mr. Hill’s approach to teamwork and leadership.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hill has emphasized the importance of collaboration as central to success in large-scale productions. He credits much of his achievements to working alongside dedicated professionals who collectively contribute to seamless broadcasts and successful events, as well as his keen attention to detail and strong listening skills, which have proven invaluable in his work. Mr. Hill’s professional excellence has been recognized with three prestigious Emmy Awards, two with NBC Sports and one with CBS Sports, reflecting his outstanding contributions to sports media.

Mr. Hill intends to continue contributing through the foundation and within the television sports industry for as long as possible. When circumstances change within broadcasting, he plans to dedicate himself fully to the hospital’s fundraising efforts. Mr. Hill’s enduring commitment to excellence, teamwork and community service defines a legacy built over nearly five decades at the intersection of sports media and philanthropy.
