Ms. Oliver has established a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in the entertainment, publishing and academic sectors. Since 2023, she has been teaching as a professor of marketing at Stanton University, responsible for teaching in-person classes and master courses, developing syllabi, meeting with students and guiding them through the intricacies of marketing. Ms. Oliver’s commitment to education is further demonstrated by her creation of innovative curricula and her dedication to nurturing the next generation of professionals.

As a best-selling author, Ms. Oliver has penned numerous works of fiction spanning mystery, historical fiction, coming-of-age stories, action and adventure genres under Kay A. Oliver since 2019. Her debut novel, “The Dr. Kaili Worthy Series, Book 1: Disturbed Tombs,” earned Book of the Year honors from OnlineBookClub.org in 2022. The following year, “Road to Elysium” garnered multiple prestigious awards, including Book of the Year for 2023 and first-place distinctions from BookFest and ReaderViews.com. Ms. Oliver’s subsequent works, such as “Sisters in Cold Blood: An Unwanted Sisterhood” and “The Dr. Kaili Worthy Series, Book 2: Grave Disturbances,” have also received top accolades across several categories.

Before her current academic appointment, Ms. Oliver was a senior project manager in the commercialization division at Hyland’s Naturals, a leading consumer health company, from 2021 to 2023. She played a pivotal role in launching new products and overseeing project management initiatives that contributed to the company’s growth. Beginning her tenure with the organization in 2014, Ms. Oliver advanced through several leadership positions, including senior manager of new products and brand manager.

In 2014, Ms. Oliver briefly worked for Natural Balance Pet Foods Inc. as a senior brand manager involved in product lines and executing marketing campaigns that enhanced brand visibility. Her expertise in creative development was honed earlier while working as a manager of global product development for television and consumer packaged goods at Saban Brands from 2011 to 2014. 

From 2005 to 2011, Ms. Oliver excelled as a product development coordinator for international markets at DreamWorks Animation. During this period, she secured an exclusive first and last deal with the studio for her screenplays and served as the producer, director and writer for her own short films presented at the Short Film Festival. Despite industry challenges regarding the marketability of female-driven narratives, Ms. Oliver transformed these stories into critically acclaimed novels, demonstrating adaptability and creative prowess.

Among her earlier ventures, Ms. Oliver was a legal and material control analyst at Universal Studios Hollywood from 1998 to 2005. Throughout her career, she has also contributed to the Hollywood industry for more than 30 years, including work with Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., which has significantly influenced her storytelling style.

Mr. Oliver’s educational background has been foundational to her success, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications with an emphasis on radio, television and film from California State University, Fullerton, in 1986 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 1996. She continued her professional development through credentials such as online faculty certification from Stanton University, an edX verified certificate for online advertising and social media, a designation from Coursera in Google analytics, and accreditation in Scrum fundamentals from VMEdu Inc., among others.

Among her professional affiliations, Ms. Oliver is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Association of Publishers Special Sales, the Women Fiction Writers Association, the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs, and the National Association of Professional Women. Apart from her professional endeavors, she has volunteered with organizations such as The Boys & Girls Club of Stanton, Casa Youth Shelter and Health Wagon, and has served in various leadership roles for organizations like the Beauty Bus Foundation. Ms. Oliver has also volunteered on live television shows, including for “Stand Up to Cancer” every year between 2012 and 2021.

Ms. Oliver’s success as a writer has been recognized by being featured on the cover and within an article titled “A Leader’s Personal Journey: An Interview with Kay A. Oliver” for Magnate View magazine in 2024. She has also appeared as a guest on various podcasts. Additionally, Ms. Oliver has received numerous accolades, recently being named Author of the Year in Fiction by the International Association of Top Professionals in 2025. 

Looking ahead, Ms. Oliver intends to continue writing and publishing while leveraging her extensive Hollywood experience to enrich her books further. Her aspirations include one day having one of her novels become adapted into a motion picture.
