As a best-selling and award-winning author, Ms. Oliver has published numerous works of fiction under the name Kay A. Oliver since 2019. Her novels span multiple genres, including mystery, historical fiction, coming-of-age stories, action, and adventure. Her debut novel, “The Dr. Kaili Worthy Series, Book 1: Disturbed Tombs,” earned Book of the Year honors from OnlineBookClub.org in 2022. The following year, “Road to Elysium” garnered multiple prestigious awards, including Book of the Year distinctions from BookFest and ReaderViews.com. Subsequent works, including “Sisters in Cold Blood: An Unwanted Sisterhood” and “The Dr. Kaili Worthy Series, Book 2: Grave Disturbances,” have also received numerous literary awards and industry recognition.

In addition to her work as a novelist, Ms. Oliver is an entertainment journalist and industry commentator whose articles have appeared in leading digital entertainment publications. Drawing upon more than 30 years of experience in Hollywood, she writes features and analysis covering film, television, industry trends, and notable performers. Her articles are regularly published through respected digital entertainment platforms and syndicated across major entertainment databases. To support her continued work in journalism and media, she is a member of the United States Press Agency (USPA).

Before her current academic appointment, Ms. Oliver served as senior project manager in the commercialization division at Hyland’s Naturals, a leading consumer health company, from 2021 to 2023. In that role, she led product commercialization initiatives, managed cross-functional teams, and contributed to the successful launch of numerous consumer products. Having joined the company in 2014, she advanced through several leadership positions, including senior manager of new products and brand manager.

In 2014, Ms. Oliver worked as a senior brand manager for Natural Balance Pet Foods Inc., where she oversaw product lines and marketing initiatives that strengthened brand awareness and market presence. Earlier, she served as manager of global product development for television and consumer packaged goods at Saban Brands from 2011 to 2014, helping develop and manage licensed consumer products for global markets.

From 2005 to 2011, Ms. Oliver excelled as a product development coordinator for international markets at DreamWorks Animation. During that time, she secured an exclusive first-look and last-look screenplay agreement with the studio and independently produced, directed, and wrote short films showcased at film festivals. Confronted with industry perceptions regarding female-driven narratives, she successfully adapted many of her creative concepts into award-winning novels, demonstrating both entrepreneurial vision and creative versatility.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Oliver served as a legal and material control analyst at Universal Studios Hollywood from 1998 to 2005. Throughout her professional journey, she has also contributed to projects within the Hollywood entertainment industry, including work with Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., experiences that continue to influence and enrich her storytelling and industry analysis.

Ms. Oliver’s educational background has been instrumental to her success. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications with an emphasis in radio, television, and film from California State University, Fullerton, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She has further enhanced her expertise through numerous professional certifications, including online faculty certification from Stanton University, an edX verified certificate in online advertising and social media, Google Analytics certification through Coursera, and Scrum Fundamentals accreditation from VMEdu Inc.

Among her professional affiliations, Ms. Oliver is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the United States Press Agency, the Association of Publishers Special Sales, the Women Fiction Writers Association, the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs, and the National Association of Professional Women. Beyond her professional pursuits, she has dedicated substantial time to community service, supporting organizations including the Boys & Girls Club of Stanton, Casa Youth Shelter, Health Wagon, and the Beauty Bus Foundation. She also volunteered annually for the nationally televised “Stand Up to Cancer” fundraising event between 2012 and 2021.

Ms. Oliver’s accomplishments have been recognized through numerous honors and media features. In 2024, she was featured on the cover of Magnate View magazine and profiled in the article “A Leader’s Personal Journey: An Interview with Kay A. Oliver.” She has appeared as a guest on multiple podcasts and media programs discussing writing, publishing, and professional development. Most recently, she was named Fiction Author of the Year for 2025 by the International Association of Top Professionals. In addition, she is a finalist for Author of the Year 2026 through the International Impact Awards. Her contributions to literature have been recognized with more than 30 awards and honors from industry organizations and literary competitions.
