Mr. Dietrich has found tremendous success in the food and beverage industry, marked by more than two decades of progressive leadership and innovation. In 2024, he founded BAR.sol, where he serves as the founder and principal consultant. In this capacity, Mr. Dietrich conducts comprehensive financial, service and menu evaluations for clients, delivers detailed reports based on his findings, and provides contract work as well as training and development services. Mr. Dietrich’s expertise has become sought after by restaurants seeking to enhance their operations, staff performance and overall profitability.

Beyond his recent endeavor with BAR.sol, Mr. Dietrich began consulting for Asa Gathering in 2024, further expanding his influence within the industry by offering strategic guidance and operational support. Located in Mercer Island, Washington, Asa Gathering has become well-recognized as a leader in craft cocktails and the local coffee scene.

Mr. Dietrich was simultaneously appointed as the opening bar manager at La Mar Bellevue in Bellevue, Washington, in 2024, where he briefly contributed to launching the establishment and setting high standards for service and beverage programs. Additionally, he served as the general manager at Sparky Cafe in Bellevue in 2024, overseeing daily operations and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

From 2022 to 2024, Mr. Dietrich excelled as the director of cocktail culture at the Space Needle, where he was responsible for curating innovative cocktail menus and elevating the guest experience at one of Seattle, Washington’s most iconic landmarks. His earlier tenure at Civility & Unrest from 2017 to 2022 stands out as a defining chapter in his career. Initially joining as lead bartender, he was promoted to creative director and bar manager in 2018. During his leadership, Mr. Dietrich navigated significant challenges associated with opening a new business. The first several months were particularly demanding. However, through perseverance and dedication, he transformed Civility & Unrest into a thriving establishment that became a cornerstone of the local community.

Earlier in his career in hospitality, Mr. Dietrich held roles that included lead bartender at John Howie Steak Restaurant from 2014 to 2015, where he refined his craft in a high-end dining environment. Between 2009 and 2013, he worked as a bartender at Daisy Duke Saloon, gaining valuable experience in customer service and beverage preparation. Mr. Dietrich also gained foundational skills as an assistant manager at The Sets and a manager at The Big Fish Pub, dating back to 2005, that would inform his later success.

Mr. Dietrich earned the certified specialist of spirits credential and achieved level one sommelier certification. He attributes his success to self-directed study of the industry, acquisition of specialized skills, creativity and persistence. He also acknowledges the unwavering support of his community and family, especially his mother, as instrumental influences on his journey.

Throughout his career, Mr. Dietrich has maintained active membership in professional organizations, such as the U.S. Bartenders’ Guild and USBG WA, reflecting his commitment to ongoing professional development and industry engagement. Actively involved in civic initiatives, he has served as an events organizer for charity awareness campaigns and continuously supports various charitable organizations through donations.

Mr. Dietrich’s excellence has been recognized with several awards, including Rising Star from the James Beard Foundation in 2019 and Best Bartender by 425 Magazine in 2022. Notably, over the past decade alone, he has created an estimated three to four hundred original cocktails across multiple establishments. Mr. Dietrich’s dedication to fostering education within the food and beverage sector, through open sharing of recipes and techniques, and mentoring others, has been foundational to his success in the industry.

Looking ahead, Mr. Dietrich aims to expand his enterprise by developing mobile bar-on-wheels services for major event venues while exploring opportunities for manufacturing these vehicles locally in Washington state. He also seeks to establish a school that will host guest chefs and bartenders from around the world to enrich knowledge within the Northwest community.
