Title: Business Operations Director
Company: Iru
Location: Miami, Florida, United States
Carlos Fernandez De Areba, business operations director at Iru, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in technology.
Beginning his career 15 years ago in his home country of Venezuela, Mr. Fernandez De Areba was determined to make it into the technology sector. He started down the path to that goal as a junior project manager and SAP production planning junior consultant at Acsys Consulting in 2010. Quickly demonstrating his ambition and talent, Mr. Fernandez De Areba became the chief of staff to the president of Outsource Software in 2012, increasing the company’s profitability by 12% in just six months. Concurrently with these early roles, he also founded his first company, Mangia, where he oversaw the growth of a four-location brand with a team of 60-plus employees, maintaining profitability despite an ongoing economic crisis in the country at that time.
In 2014, Mr. Fernandez De Areba immigrated to the United States, taking this risk despite having limited experience and resources because he knew it was where he could make the most impact in the world of technology. After establishing himself, he accepted a position as a sales operations associate for Meta’s Creative Shop. Showcasing his commitment to hard work, Mr. Fernandez De Areba played a key part in scaling Meta’s Creative Shop team from 20 employees to more than 100. He built a reputation for approaching his work with humility, a positive attitude and a focus on building relationships.
That work ethic made such a strong impression that Mr. Fernandez De Areba was promoted to program manager for global accounts at Meta in 2018. In this position, he designed a framework utilized by over 100 consumer packaged goods brands to improve revenue shares and scale globally. In 2021, Mr. Fernandez De Areba took on additional responsibilities as the business planning and operations manager for global sales at Meta. His strategic insights helped accomplish $200 million in cost savings while aligning a worldwide team to optimize workflow consistency and drive growth and efficiency.
Culminating his professional trajectory in 2025, Mr. Fernandez De Areba joined technology startup Kandji. Now known as Iru, this company operates a unified information technology (IT) and security platform, allowing growing companies to keep their data secure through simplified, powerful tools and the use of artificial intelligence (AI). As business operations director at Iru, an AI-powered security & IT platform uniting identity, endpoint security, and compliance to collapse the IT stack, he supports executive leadership in driving strategic initiatives, strengthening organizational performance, and enabling data-informed decisions to drive efficient growth.
Mr. Fernadez De Areba’s performance in the field was born of his academic journey. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in production engineering from the Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela in 2010. After moving to the United States, Mr. Fernandez De Areba earned a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University in 2016. In addition to his education, he credits his many mentors for guiding him as he progressed through his career.
Beyond his professional journey, Mr. Fernandez De Areba is a devoted husband and a loving father to two children, aged 2 years old and 5 months old. He enjoys playing golf and working out in his free time. As he moves forward, Mr. Fernandez De Areba is excited to contribute to the continued growth of Iru. He has set ambitious personal goals for the years ahead, including becoming an established business professional in the Miami area and investing in further companies.
