Ms. Cunningham’s journey in finance began with her unexpected entry into the construction sector. Initially working in an accounting department in California, she transitioned to the construction industry after an unexpected interview. This shift marked the beginning of a distinguished career characterized by strategic financial planning and analysis. Ms. Cunningham’s expertise in financial strategy and analysis has been instrumental in her roles at various organizations.
In 2023, Ms. Cunningham assumed her current role as the vice president of finance at conceptcsi at the firm’s headquarters in New York City. Recognized as a full-service, commercial general contractor and construction management firm, it has garnered both national and international experience. Ms. Cunningham’s role comes after initially working for the company as the head of corporate finance and operations from 2020 to 2023. During this period, she was pivotal in developing a financial analysis system that significantly contributed to the company’s growth by enabling accurate project profit assessments.
Before being recruited by conceptcsi, Ms. Cunningham was the vice president of finance at Arqenta in New York City from 2023 to 2024. This role followed her tenure as the head of corporate finance and operations, starting in 2020.
Earlier, Ms. Cunningham honed her skills at DKS Construction Inc. in San Diego, California, where she held multiple positions from 2016 to 2020, including assistant project finance manager, office manager and project finance manager. Her career commenced with roles in the accounting department at Alliant Insurance Services Inc. in San Diego, in the accounts payable department at RW Smith & Co. (now TriMark R.W. Smith), and in banking at Permanent TSB plc in Ireland.
Ms. Cunningham’s academic background includes an undergraduate degree in business studies in accounting and finance, with honors, from Limerick Institute of Technology (now Technological University of the Shannon) in 2014. Her professional development is further evidenced by professional credentials, such as a certification in strategic financial analysis from Harvard Business School Online and a business consultant certificate from IAP Career College. Additionally, she completed qualifications as a financial advisor through IOB in Ireland.
Actively involved with industry-related organizations, Ms. Cunningham is a member of the National Association of Professional Women in Construction. She is also a member of the executive board of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, since 2025. Her commitment extends beyond her professional life as she serves on the global board of directors for lovefutbol.org, reflecting her dedication to civic engagement.
Ms. Cunningham attributes much of her success to the support and encouragement from her family, particularly drawing inspiration from her mother’s work ethic. Looking ahead, she aims to secure a C-level executive position and drive innovation within the construction and finance sectors while potentially taking partial ownership to further influence company growth.
