Mr. Sheera’s career in the medical device sector is marked by his expertise in market intelligence and cross-functional transformation, with a career spanning over a decade. In 2025, he joined Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies Inc. as the vice president of business transformation. Headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, Terumo is a global leader in blood components, therapeutic apheresis and cellular technologies, with a reach that extends to serving customers across more than 160 countries.
As part of his responsibilities in his leading role, Mr. Sheera is tasked with scaling company operations to achieve continuous growth, including into previously untapped geographies, and identifying opportunities in regions such as Africa, India, China, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. Additionally, Mr. Sheera actively engages in providing financial and performance metrics for the organization.
Mr. Sheera’s journey began as a graduate engineer at Hutchison Essar Limited in 2002. He then transitioned to Infosys Limited as a software engineer and module lead from 2003 to 2005. His tenure at MindTree (now LTM) saw him rise from associate to senior consultant between 2005 and 2011. In 2012, Mr. Sheera became a marketing consultant for General Electric Company and an MBA summer associate at Johnson Controls.
In 2013, Mr. Sheera joined Zimmer Biomet through its leadership program, where he held various roles, beginning in product marketing and later becoming a product marketing and project management office lead. By 2016, he became a global product manager, followed by positions such as associate director and director of downstream marketing. Mr. Sheera’s strategic acumen led him to become the assistant general manager in 2022 and subsequently the vice president of strategic initiatives and chief of staff to the chief operating officer. He was then appointed as the vice president of special projects in the office of the chief executive officer in 2023 before becoming the business and marketing leader in 2025.
During his tenure at Zimmer Biomet, Mr. Sheera’s most notable achievement was managing a crisis in the sports medicine business when an external vendor closed its facility. Despite not being directly affiliated with sports medicine, his expertise in cross-functional transformation was pivotal in reorganizing global distribution, ensuring no back orders or missed surgeries during the transition period.
Mr. Sheera’s academic background culminated in two master’s degrees in 2013 after initially studying electronics at the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology in India between 1998 and 2002. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration in marketing and general management from the China Europe International Business School. Adding to his credentials, Mr. Sheera earned an executive certification in project management from the Project Management Institute.
Among his career accomplishments, Mr. Sheera co-authored “The Rise of Robotics in Orthopedics: Innovations and Future Directions” in 2025, reflecting his commitment to advancing medical technology. Co-authored with Mayur Chodavadiya of MedTech and Megha Maheshwari of IQVIA MedTech, the white paper was released through IQVIA and focuses on the latest trends and forecasts in robotic orthopedics, perspectives on how robotics is shaping the future of orthopedic care and more.
Born in New Delhi, Mr. Sheera attributes his professional success to exposure to diverse industries within the medical devices sector, participation in leadership programs, collaboration and mentorship from industry leaders. Looking ahead, he aims to foster innovative thinking in patient care by expediting clinical studies and developing economic business cases for early adoption of new technologies. Mr. Sheera emphasizes leveraging artificial intelligence and strengthening industry collaboration to drive such transformative advancements.
