He further enhanced his credentials by obtaining a certified financial planner designation through the Executive Certificate in Financial Planning program at Georgetown University, in addition to becoming a certified fund specialist. These academic achievements have provided a strong foundation for Mr. Krell’s success in the financial services industry.
In addition to his primary responsibilities, Mr. Krell maintains an active membership in Alpha Phi Omega. He has notably served as the chair of fundraising initiatives benefiting mentally and physically abused children through the Washington Redskins-Optimist Club. He has also held board positions with local chapters of both the Optimist Club and the Lions Club International. Mr. Krell’s commitment to civic engagement extends to volunteering as a financial counselor for low-income and elderly individuals in Northern Virginia and volunteering with Special Olympics programs through Fairfax County Public Schools. Furthermore, he serves on the board of Character.org.
Mr. Krell has contributed thought leadership to the field through publications such as “The Fear Cocktail,” published in Financial Advisor Magazine in 2011. He has also received numerous accolades recognizing his excellence in financial advising. His honors include being named Top Financial Professionals by Northern Virginia Magazine numerous times between 2011 and 2025, being named among the Top 50 NextGen Independent Advisors by REP Magazine in 2014 and 2015, and being named among the Top Financial Advisors by Washingtonian in 2016. Mr. Krell attributes much of his professional development to the influence of his mother and father, who worked in the mortgage finance sector and in higher education as a finance professor at the doctoral level, respectively. Their blend of financial acumen and empathy significantly shaped his approach to client service. Mr. Krell also credits Stephan Cassaday, his company’s chair and chief executive officer, as the most significant influence on his business career, noting that the lessons learned from him have been instrumental in shaping his professional philosophy.
