In this capacity, Mr. Aguillon is responsible for instantiating new partnerships, solutions and integrations that support the digital economy’s backbone. Notably, Equinix Inc. operates 270 data centers across 36 countries and 75 metropolitan areas, providing critical infrastructure that enables daily activities, such as streaming media, ride-sharing and international communications. Affiliated with Equinix Inc. since 2018, Mr. Aguillon held the role of senior manager partner for go-to-market solutions from 2023 to 2025. During this period, he played a key role in aligning technical offerings with market demands and developing strategies for enterprise clients. Mr. Aguillon’s prior positions included senior technical account manager following his initial role as a global customer success manager for strategic alliances. He initially joined the company to focus on strategic alliances, where he focused on Microsoft before helping establish a new technical implementation team. Recognizing a need for specialized expertise, Mr. Aguillon led efforts to onboard customers and maximize their use of new services. Later, he transitioned into an alliance product integration role, collaborating with partners such as Dell and HPE to create significant market value.
Before joining Equinix Inc., Mr. Aguillon was a strategic account manager at OVH US in Denver, Colorado, from 2017 to 2018. He remained with OVH US following its acquisition of VMware’s vCloud Air business unit, fulfilling a retention agreement after VMware decided to exit direct competition with hyperscalers due to capital requirements.
From 2016 to 2017, Mr. Aguillon worked as a senior client account manager for vCloud Air at VMware, a European software development company, after previously serving as a client success specialist between 2014 and 2016 in Broomfield, Colorado. At VMware, then recognized as one of the most innovative firms in the country, he contributed to pioneering virtualization technologies that transformed server utilization rates from under 15% to over 95% efficiency. Mr. Aguillon managed relationships with major global clients, such as Pfizer Inc., regularly traveling to Manhattan, New York, to interface with demanding information technology (IT) teams and oversee critical projects during VMware’s expansion into networking and storage virtualization.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Aguillon began working in the IT sales sector immediately after earning his master’s degree by joining the NEC Corporation of America in Denver. As an associate account manager and later as an enterprise account manager between 2012 and 2014, he developed a broad technical toolset by selling software-defined networking solutions, cloud services, storage products and telecommunications systems. This experience equipped Mr. Aguillon with the ability to bridge business challenges with appropriate technical solutions, a skill that would later prompt VMware to recruit him.
In addition to his primary roles, Mr. Aguillon has contributed his expertise as an advisory board member for Kapdec, an e-learning marketplace based in Ohio, from 2020 to 2022. He served in the same role for Binary Reign during that time frame.
Mr. Aguillon’s educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and a Master of Business Administration in international business from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, where he was a collegiate football player. The university’s unique heritage as a former women’s college affiliated with Baylor University provided him with a Christian foundation that continues to influence his values today.
Mr. Aguillon is proud of being recruited as a thought leader to speak at major industry conferences. Recent engagements included delivering a keynote address at an AI symposium in Boulder, Colorado, and upcoming presentations in San Francisco, California, and Ashburn, Virginia. Beyond professional achievements, Mr. Aguillon’s community service and civic engagement have included volunteer work at the local community food bank and with Bellville Methodist Church through youth programs, mission trips and support for his children’s choir participation. Earlier, he served on the board of directors for CASA for Kids South Central Texas from 2021 to 2022, supporting children within the foster care system.
Throughout his tenure at Equinix Inc., Mr. Aguillon has received multiple internal corporate awards recognizing his performance and leadership. He attributes much of his work ethic and resilience to lessons learned from his parents’ leadership during challenging times. Mr. Aguillon’s wife is also a steadfast source of encouragement who has supported him through every professional transition.
