Before joining the Naples Yacht Club, Ms. O’Connor was the senior vice president at the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce from 2002 to 2014. In this capacity, she contributed to regional business development and community engagement initiatives for more than 10 years. Before working for the chamber, Ms. O’Connor built her early career in retail management, overseeing stores for various companies across the country. Her responsibilities included store merchandising and supporting new store openings, an experience that shaped her understanding of customer service and operational excellence.
Ms. O’Connor’s academic background included coursework in fashion merchandising. This foundation provided valuable insights into consumer trends and presentation strategies that have informed her professional journey across retail management and hospitality leadership. Ms. O’Connor further enhanced her credentials by completing the Leadership Collier Program in 2008, equipping her with advanced skills in organizational leadership and civic engagement.
Heavily engaged in a civic capacity, Ms. O’Connor has been the governance chair, secretary, treasurer and president of the Women’s Foundation of Collier County since 2016, a member of the board of advisers at Keiser University, and a teacher of etiquette classes for more than 15 years through Champions for Learning, Ave Maria University and other nonprofit organizations. She also serves on the Hall of Fame advisory board for Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida, Inc. Earlier, Ms. O’Connor excelled as the board president of Youth Haven, Inc., and as the past chair of numerous nonprofit fundraisers benefiting underserved women and children.
Ms. O’Connor’s accomplishments have been recognized with several honors, including being named among the Top 100 Business Leaders in Collier County for 2024 to 2025. She was also the recipient of the Women of Initiative Award and the Glass Slipper Award from Champions for Learning and was included in The Naples 100 by Naples Illustrated.
