Mr. Patel began his career as a project manager engineering specialist II for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in 2018, where he focused on industrial and hazardous waste permits in Texas. He then served as a technical engineering specialist III from 2019 to 2021. During this period, he contributed to the oversight of federal and state-run programs and other initiatives.
During his tenure with the organization, Mr. Patel simultaneously served as a technical coordinator and engineering specialist IV at the Railroad Commission of Texas in Austin in 2023. Earlier in his career, between 2016 and 2018, Mr. Patel was a research engineering scientist and associate at the University of Texas at Arlington, contributing to scientific studies that informed environmental policy and best practices for public drinking water. From 2014 to 2015, Mr. Patel was a lead field logging geologist IV and hazardous materials shipper driver at Horizon Well Logging Inc. in Midland, Texas.
