Dawn S. DeWeil, Attorney and Partner at Rothenberg, Rubenstein, Berliner & Shinrod, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in civil litigation.
Coming from a family of law enforcement professionals, Ms. DeWeil was inspired to pursue a career in law from a young age. She received a Bachelor of Arts at Rutgers University in 1979 and went on to achieve a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the New York Law School in 1987. Subsequently, she became admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York, as well as before the U.S. District Court of New Jersey and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Ms. DeWeil commenced her career as assistant regional counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in 1987, moving on to be an associate attorney for the New York City Police Department until 1989. Between 1989 and 1999, she was an associate attorney for Heidell Pittoni Murphy & Bach and a partner and managing attorney of the breast implant litigation unit for Schneider Kleinick Weitz Damashek & Shoot. Certified as a civil trial attorney, Ms. DeWeil currently serves as a partner of Rothenberg, Rubenstein, Berliner & Shinrod, where she handles a wide range of personal injury cases.
Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. DeWeil has lectured as invited faculty for the New Jersey Association of Justice, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. Likewise, she has lectured physician groups with respect to medical malpractice issues and on breast implant litigation, as she is a member of the editorial board for, “Medical and Legal Aspects of Breast Litigation.” Notably, she has made appearances on Court TV as both a guest commentator and Arthur Miller panelist in the 1990s. Ms. DeWeil maintains affiliation with the American Trial Lawyers Association, New York Bar Association, Metropolitan Women’s Bar Association, and New York State Trial Lawyers Association. Civically, she is also involved with the Association for Metro-Area Autistic Children and Community Action for Independent Living. To attest to her legacy, Ms. DeWeil can also be found in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.
