Dr. Newton chose the healthcare field because he had a second cousin who was a pediatrician and a junior high school teacher who encouraged his students to think about healthcare.
Before entering his profession, Dr. Newton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Pre-Medicine from Vanderbilt University in 1977. He then received a Doctor of Medicine from Meharry Medical College in 1981. Continuing his education, he was in a flexible internship at Hurley Medical Center in 1982, took coursework on diagnostic radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1986, and was in a neuroradiology fellowship at the University of South Florida in 1993. Civically, he has been the chief executive officer for Eden Community Venture Corporation since 2020. He has also participated in online missionary work. As a testament to his success, Dr. Newton holds two United States Patents and currently has one patent pending for a system and method for refunding property taxes using options and capital markets.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Newton hopes his business will have a significant social impact. He wants to move away from the healthcare field and focus more on Eden Community Venture Corporation and his for-profit business, 330pie. Eden Community Venture Corporation is involved in several projects and he would like to be more involved with those. He hopes to use his background in healthcare to help the corporation start a project for an assisted living facility. Dr. Newton also wants to help the corporation expand to projects outside the United States.
