In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Ms. Wilson has found much success in the financial sector. Since 2019, she has served as the mortgage quality control manager at Texas Dow Employees Credit Union, where she oversees compliance and quality assurance processes. In the years prior, she worked as a senior compliance examiner and team lead with the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2011 to 2018. Her impressive tenure at Goldman Sachs included roles as a direct endorsement underwriter at Avelo Mortgage from 2007 to 2010 and a manager of loss mitigation and underwriting at Litton Loan Servicing from 2007 to 2011. Earlier in her career, Ms. Wilson honed her skills as a mortgage underwriter with the Baltimore American Mortgage Corporation from 2005 to 2007.
Ms. Wilson’s dedication to her field is further evidenced by her academic achievements and certifications. She initially earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 2001. She ultimately graduated from the Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University with a Master of Business Administration in 2016. Her professional credentials include being a direct endorsement underwriter certified by the Federal Housing Administration since 2005 and an accredited mortgage professional through the Mortgage Bankers Association since 2022. Additionally, Ms. Wilson completed a strategic agility certification through LinkedIn in 2024.
Ms. Wilson’s commitment to professional excellence has been recognized through numerous accolades over the years. She was proudly recognized as the Employee of the Year at Goldman Sachs for her pivotal role in obtaining Eagle certification from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Ms. Wilson’s stellar work has been acknowledged with awards from various employers as well.
Beyond her primary endeavors, Ms. Wilson volunteers with the Houston Sports Authority and TDECU Cares at Texas Dow Employees Credit Union, demonstrating her commitment to community service. As a mentor within her church community, she provides guidance and support to individuals seeking personal and professional growth. Born in New Orleans, Ms. Wilson enjoys traveling, music, and singing in her church choir during her spare time.
Ms. Wilson attributes her success to the outstanding work ethic instilled in her by her parents, her desire to thrive in all of her pursuits, and the satisfaction she receives from being of service to those in need. Active as an underwriter since the 1990s, she subsequently became inspired to launch her own woman-and-minority-owned consulting business after garnering additional experience in compliance and auditing. Among the highlights of her storied career, she is incredibly proud of becoming the first government underwriter that Goldman Sachs hired into the mortgage reservation business. Looking toward the future, Ms. Wilson hopes to expand her business while obtaining local and government contracts, providing jobs to those within her community, and offering essential resources to children and young adults.
