Since 2016, he has been serving as a principal consultant and distinguished member of the technical staff with Bell Labs Consulting in Nokia Bell Labs. Leveraging over 30 years of success, he worked for Alcatel-Lucent/Bell Laboratories as a distinguished member of the technical staff from 1996 to 2006. Earlier in his multifaceted career, Dr. Saleh was a member of the technical staff at Bell Labs at AT&T between 1988 and 1995.
Throughout his career, Dr. Saleh has acquired extensive experience in reengineering large-scale enterprise operations to implement data-driven automation, optimizing processes for efficiency and profitability. He has also developed deep expertise in digital communication technologies and their economic valuation, providing critical insights into their financial and strategic implications. Additionally, he has successfully quantified the market potential of digital communication services using advanced econometric techniques, enabling data-driven decision-making for service providers. His expertise extends to applying machine learning and analytics in the telecom domain, particularly in enhancing customer experience and optimizing service operations.
Furthermore, Dr. Saleh has played a key role in assessing the macroeconomic impact of telecommunication investments, leveraging his consulting experience to quantify their broader economic benefits. In the last decade, he has been involved in consulting engagements with tier-1 global communication service providers, government agencies, and ministries as a domain lead, developing tactical and strategic roadmaps focused on industry digitalization initiatives anchored on advanced communication technologies, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) use cases, and the deployment of distributed data platforms.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Saleh studied at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1977, a Bachelor of Science in business and economics in 1979, a Master of Science in manufacturing engineering in 1983, and a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial engineering and operations research in 1988. He notably received a National Science Foundation Research Grant for his doctoral thesis research at Lehigh University. Dr. Saleh also received professional certificates in data science and data engineering from MIT.
