Leveraging his former success, Mr. Boswell was the president and chief executive officer at Baptist Medical Group (Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation) for over two decades, beginning in 1996, before pivoting into entrepreneurship. He was also the chief financial officer at Physician Services, Caremark Ltd., from 1993 to 1996 and the director of mergers and acquisitions for the Greater China region at Whirlpool Corporation between 1983 and 1993.
Besides his primary career objectives, Mr. Boswell participates in podcasts every few months and works with a public relations company to contribute to various media outlets. He also served as the board chair for the American Milk Group Association for 30 years.
Highly educated, Mr. Boswell obtained a Bachelor of Science in finance from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston in 1983 and a Master of Business Administration in corporate finance from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago in 1993.
Civically engaged, Mr. Boswell has enjoyed giving back to the Baptist Charitable Foundation. He also served on the board of Advancing High-Performance Health, a nonprofit medical organization based in Virginia, from 2008 to 2017.
Throughout his tenure in the health care sector, Mr. Boswell has been recognized for numerous accomplishments. During his tenure with Baptist Medical Group, he established a subsidiary from the ground up in 2009, led over 50 acquisitions and expanded the organization substantially. Mr. Boswell’s contributions were also instrumental in standardizing operations and enhancing organizational efficiency across a three-state region.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Boswell notes his strong analytical skills and hands-on approach to business, which have been instrumental in his ability to thoroughly understand all aspects of a company’s operations. Additionally, he has found that allowing employees the autonomy to manage their roles without interference has been critical in garnering their respect and trust as a servant leader.
