Mr. Mathur, an esteemed professional in the food service industry, has been excelling as the director of operations at Moghul Caterers in Edison, New Jersey. In his leading role, he is responsible for the overall operations of the company’s success. Founded in 1983, the award-winning catering company provides a unique cuisine that encompasses Indian culinary traditions with global flavors and curated menus for all types of private affairs, from weddings and corporate parties to other types of social events.

Leveraging his remarkable background, Mr. Mathur is highly qualified. His career history in the field dates back to 1998 in his native India. His ability to create menu plans, coordinate events, source food, recruit and nurture talent, and provide comprehensive training for his team has been instrumental to his success. Mr. Mathur’s experience with various environments, from start-ups to well-established food chains and prominent hotel restaurants, has also been pivotal. Furthermore, he has acquired expertise in launching product lines, developing culinary products, and ensuring food safety and compliance.

Before being recruited to Moghul Caterers, Mr. Mathur worked for a multitude of other restaurants and hotels, dating back to 2001 when he first joined the Pan Asian Restaurant at the Sheraton New Delhi Hotel, Mariott International Inc. Earning subsequent success in various roles, he began as a junior sous chef and worked his way up to executive chef at places like Radisson Blu Hotel, Radisson Hotel Group, in New Delhi between 2017 and 2018, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group from 2017 to 2019, and WelcomHotel by ITC Hotels, ITC Ltd., in New Delhi between 2021 and 2023.

Mr. Mathur received a bachelor’s degree in chef management from the Academy of Culinary Education (now Goa College of Hospitality & Culinary Education) in 2002. He also completed numerous professional credentials, including food safety training and certification through the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, designation as an executive chef by the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations, and, among others, earned Six Sigma green belt certification.

Among many career accomplishments, Mr. Mathur recalls his contributions to the pre-opening phase of ITC Grand Chola in Chennai, India, in 2011. Despite various grand opening setbacks, he and the entire team successfully hosted a scheduled week-long wedding affair with 7,000 attendees, which required pre-plated meals. For two consecutive years, Mr. Mathur also led the ITC chefs team at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and was credited with organizing the Indian food promotion at The Raffles Hotel in Cambodia.

Mr. Mathur has been recognized for his culinary prowess, earning the opportunity to serve as a celebrity chef on season five of Sony TV’s “Flavours of Ramadan” in 2015. Additionally, he received several accolades, including a Recognition for Excellence in Contributions for the Financial Year 2017-2018 by the Radisson Hotel Group.

In preparation for the future of his career, Mr. Mathur is focused on assisting Moghul Caterers as they prepare to expand through franchising. Moghul Caterers presently operates 14 locations and has identified five other locations for franchising with interest from several potential investors. Critically important, Mr. Mathur is also working on establishing standard operating procedures for the central kitchen, which serves as the catering company’s commissary kitchen.
