Brian N. Birckbichler, president and chief operating officer of Jumpshot Live and senior vice president of Atomic Golf Las Vegas, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in sports entertainment and hospitality.
With decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Birckbichler has established a successful career in sports entertainment and hospitality. He currently serves as president and chief operating officer at Jumpshot Live, a position he has held since 2023. Jumpshot Live is a basketball-themed entertainment venue combining a restaurant, sports bar, and event space. Collaborating with his mentor Ken May, he has driven the development of this innovative project, which features a state-of-the-art basketball experience. With permits secured and nine acres acquired in North Texas, their first location will showcase basketball hoops capable of moving in multiple directions and rotating 360 degrees, simulating any shot without user movement. Enhanced with LED lighting, AI-powered cameras, and interactive games, the venue offers a video game-like experience tailored for diverse occasions. He is set to highlight the project as a keynote speaker at a sports and entertainment conference in California in February 2025.
Mr. Birckbichler also serves as senior vice president at Atomic Golf in Las Vegas and senior vice president of entertainment at Century Golf, roles he has held since 2020. Additionally, he has worked as a hospitality and entertainment expert consultant since 2018. His experience also includes national account director at LifeWorks Restaurant Group from 2019 to 2021, vice president of operations at Drive Shack Inc. in 2019, and director of operations at Topgolf from 2015 to 2019. Earlier in his career, he served as managing partner at Bloomin’ Brands Inc. from 2011 to 2015, general manager at Darden from 2003 to 2011, and hospitality manager at Brinker International from 1999 to 2003. Laying a strong academic foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Science in hospitality administration from the University of North Texas in 1998.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Birckbichler advanced his career in casual dining with Bloomin’ Brands and Darden Restaurants before a pivotal mentorship with Ken May, then chief executive officer of Topgolf, in 2014. This partnership allowed him to help transform Topgolf into a leading entertainment brand, playing a key role in opening multiple locations and contributing to design, construction, and operations. Later, as vice president of operations at Drive Shack, he helped shape its strategic direction.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Birckbichler has been honored with multiple Star Awards for operational efficiency, execution, and cultural excellence at Topgolf, as well as recognition for opening the most buildings in a single year. He attributes his success to the inspiration provided by his father, the support of his two younger brothers, and the guidance of his cousin. He is especially grateful for the mentorship of Mr. May, who emphasized the importance of valuing people, fostering a positive organizational culture, and maintaining integrity beyond the workplace. Additionally, he acknowledges the unwavering encouragement of his wife, who has supported him throughout a demanding career. Looking to the future, he plans to oversee the expansion of Jumpshot Live to 20 venues and Atomic Golf to 10 locations. Additionally, he aspires to leverage his athletic background to serve as a high school football coach.
