Mr. Jacques-Louis, general manager at the Embassy Suites by Hilton at the Miami International Airport in South Florida, has excelled in his leading position for over 15 years. Initially hired by the hospitality group in 2004 as an assistant general manager, he was promoted to general manager in 2009. Notably, Embassy Suites by Hilton is a chain of all-suite hotels trademarked by Hilton Worldwide, comprising over 255 locations across five countries and territories.
As the general manager, Mr. Jacques-Louis oversees a team of over 50 employees, including 15 managers and directors. Much of his business involves ensuring the company’s operations and finances remain profitable. His goal is to maintain a 90 percent occupancy rate year-round.
Before being acquired by Embassy Suites, Mr. Jacques-Louis was employed by DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Worldwide, as a director of loss prevention and hotel operations. This foundational role was pivotal to his continued success and progression in the hospitality sector. Mr. Jacques-Louis’s team-building and financial management skills have also been instrumental in his ability to expand his career opportunities within the industry.
Mr. Jacques-Louis’s foundation role was cleaning tables at a local restaurant. The position motivated him to continue working in the field because he drew great satisfaction in serving others. Pivoting from the restaurant to the hotel industry, Mr. Jacques-Louis’s first position was as a security officer, and he quickly progressed to security supervisor and security director.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Jacques-Louis received an undergraduate degree in criminal justice administration in 1999 and a master’s degree in executive hospitality management in 2005 from Florida International University in Miami. He also garnered a hotel real estate investments and asset management certificate through Cornell University. Mr. Jacques-Louis speaks fluent English and French.
Besides his primary professional commitments, Mr. Jacques-Louis has been serving on the board of directors for the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area of Florida since 2014 and in the same capacity for the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau in Miami since 2024. Furthermore, Mr. Jacques-Louis has been a member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, where he has been able to network with local businesses in the area.
In recognition of his hard work and dedication to his field, Mr. Jacques-Louis received a President’s Award for the Promus Hotel and DoubleTree by Hilton and a Leadership Excellence Award from Hilton Worldwide. He also won a Sustainability Award and several Diversity in the Workplace Awards from the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel. Furthermore, under Mr. Jacques-Louis’s leadership, RevPAR recognized Embassy Suites as the Number One Full-Service Hotel for 10 consecutive years.
Mr. Jacques-Louis intends to continue expanding in his field by earning opportunities to manage more employees and properties. He also envisions working from a corporate office where he could eventually oversee a larger geographical area. Reflecting on the past two decades, Mr. Jacques-Louis’s expertise in sales and marketing, revenue management, food and beverage, operations and teambuilding has been instrumental to his success and progression thus far.
