A recognized leader in information technology (IT), Mr. Sheskey is the owner and founder of Forcetron Technologies. Established in 2021, his firm specializes in designing, installing and servicing technology solutions for homes and small businesses. Comprising a team with over 45 years of combined technology expertise, Mr. Sheskey and his employees have backgrounds in the utility, critical infrastructure, telecommunications and military sectors, enabling them to deliver cost-effective solutions.
Located in Ashville, Ohio, just south of Central Ohio, Mr. Sheskey and his team provide service throughout most of the state. Among a range of services, Forcetron Technologies provides homeowners with cable installations, network installations and services, security system installations, smart home solutions and computer repair. Meanwhile, the company offers business owners backup solutions, computer repair, hardware and software patching services, network installation, maintenance and repair, and software upgrades/migration services.
Apart from managing Forcetron Technologies, Mr. Sheskey has served as an information system security engineer for border defense on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense. This contracted position involves extensive cybersecurity engineering, risk management and architecture expertise. Grateful for the opportunity to give back to his country, Mr. Sheskey intends to expand his contributions by increasing his involvement with the organization.
Mr. Sheskey began his career shortly after graduating from college when he joined Omnicare, a CVS Health company, as a helpdesk administrator in Dublin, Ohio. His role encompassed supporting end users, managing deployments, and supporting and maintaining the Safeboot (McAfee Endpoint Encryption) infrastructure. Based in Cincinnati, Omnicare provides comprehensive pharmaceutical services to skilled nursing, assisted living and other chronic care institutions nationwide.
In 2008, Mr. Sheskey pivoted when American Electric Power recruited him at the utility headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. He was an IT security specialist on-site for over 15 years until early 2024. American Electric Power provides energy service to approximately 5.6 million customers across 11 states.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Sheskey graduated from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude. He also became a certified information systems security professional (CISSP), an advanced certification for IT and cybersecurity professionals. Moreover, Mr. Sheskey completed numerous LinkedIn CISSP preparation courses in 2023, focusing on security architecture and engineering, asset security, security and risk management, software development security, security assessment and testing, and more.
Besides his formal education, Mr. Sheskey remains at the forefront of his industry through membership in the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2). Beyond his work-related endeavors, he is passionate about community service and engaging with charitable organizations that give back. Most notably, Mr. Sheskey has been affiliated with Ronald McDonald House Charities. The organization provides comfort, support and resources to families with sick children.
Mr. Sheskey’s successful career in IT and cybersecurity is marked by his unwavering determination. Introduced to the field at a very young age, he was instantly fascinated by the work and believed it would fit his goals and desires. As such, Mr. Sheskey remains determined to continue to grow and expand his knowledge base as someone who has maintained an insatiable curiosity for the work.
