Troy Rydman, Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer at Packsize, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cybersecurity.
Mr. Rydman is a seasoned expert in cybersecurity who formerly served as senior practice manager of global strategic accounts at Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS) in Salt Lake City, Utah. With two decades of experience in the field, he has established himself as a security, risk and compliance (SRC) leader. Beginning his tenure at AWS in 2022, Mr. Rydman has been instrumental in collaborating with the company’s most prominent enterprise customers and managing consultants on security cloud architectures, customer-driven regulatory compliance systems and other areas of the business.
In April 2025, Mr. Rydman also acquired the position of chief information officer and chief information security officer at Packsize in Salt Lake City, an award-winning supply chain and sustainable packaging industry leader in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Reporting directly to the chief executive officer, he is tasked with advancing and modernizing organizational technology and security infrastructure by taking a customer-first outcome-based approach to business.
Earlier, Mr. Rydman excelled as the chief information security officer and vice president of cybersecurity at Fast, a technology company in Salt Lake City, strengthening the company’s cloud-based cybersecurity practices. He also spent over a decade at Silicon Valley Bank in Salt Lake City, holding various positions between 2007 and 2021. Hired as a system administrator, Mr. Rydman ultimately achieved the title of division chief information security officer. Notably, during his tenure at Silicon Valley Bank, the institution never experienced any security breaches, a testament to the robust security program he implemented.
Mr. Rydman’s early career also included a position as the supervisor of support services at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics in Salt Lake City from 2007 to 2012. He managed a small team, coordinating hospital support teams to deliver surgical equipment and medical devices.
Beyond his primary roles, Mr. Rydman has served on the board of governors for Utah Aerospace and Defense since 2023. Based in Salt Lake City, the organization supports and promotes the state’s aerospace, defense and security industries.
Highly educated, Mr. Rydman received an Associate of Science in computer science from Salt Lake Community College, a Bachelor of Science in network and system administration from Western Governors University, and a Master of Science in information assurance from Pennsylvania State University. He also holds certifications as an AWS-certified artificial intelligence practitioner and a certified information security manager.
In addition to his professional roles, Mr. Rydman is actively involved in industry-related organizations, such as the CyberEdBoard Community as an executive member, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium. These memberships have allowed him to remain at the forefront of his business community and network with like-minded individuals.
Beyond his work-related endeavors, Mr. Rydman has been committed to civic engagement as an information security committee member for the Utah Food Bank since 2018. He has also contributed to the field through publications such as “Risk Management and Misinformation Campaigns” and “Social Media and the Evolving Threat Landscape,” both featured in Forbes.
Mr. Rydman’s expertise has been recognized through features in prominent publications such as Forbes and Utah Business. Looking ahead, he aims to implement standardized cybersecurity practices for K-12 students and pursue a doctorate in cybersecurity to advance his career while continuing to publish his work on the subject.
