His career began with his certification as a certified public accountant in the state of Minnesota, a designation he maintained from 1966 to 1994. During this time, Mr. Reuss also served as the past chairman of the Minnesota Association of CPAs, demonstrating his leadership within the accounting profession.
In addition to the aforementioned roles, Mr. Reuss co-founded Reuss Fifth and Company, a consulting firm based in Minneapolis that specialized in assisting troubled businesses across seven states. Under his guidance, the company established Medcare Associates, a subsidiary that manages nursing homes and employs approximately 700 people. This venture stands as a testament to Mr. Reuss’s ability to identify and nurture successful business opportunities.
Before embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Reuss pursued a formal education at Purdue University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1961. He subsequently concluded his studies at Purdue University in 1963, at which point he graduated with a Master of Science in industrial management. Further enhancing his expertise, he ultimately completed the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. These academic accomplishments have been instrumental in shaping his approach to problem-solving and goal achievement.
Mr. Reuss’s professional affiliations include his membership in the Research Triangle Energy Consortium. He is additionally active as a member of the Private Company Directors Association. These associations reflect his commitment to staying engaged with the latest developments in his industry and contributing to broader discussions within his field.
Beyond his primary endeavors, Mr. Reuss remains involved in civic organizations. Appointed as a director of the North Carolina Executive Roundtable, he has likewise contributed as a board member and treasurer with both the Woodturners Guild of North Carolina and the Lakeview Homeowners Association. His artistic pursuits are also notable; he is an accomplished woodturner whose work has been featured by the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation Inc.
