Before being acquired by Royal Bank of Canada, Mr. Warren was a senior director at First Citizens Bank in Raleigh, North Carolina, from 2023 to 2024. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the bank’s risk management infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of accountability across business units.

In 2023, Mr. Warren had the opportunity to serve as a senior director at Silicon Valley Bank NA, following his earlier appointment as the director from 2021 to 2023. His tenure at the banking institution was marked by his instrumental efforts in addressing significant management challenges within the organization. Mr. Warren’s strategic interventions were critical in stabilizing operations and restoring confidence among stakeholders during a period of transition for the bank.

From 2019 to 2021, Mr. Warren was a control officer at Wells Fargo in Richmond, Virginia. His career in risk management began previously at Capital One in Richmond, where he advanced through several key positions over nearly a decade. Hired as a senior compliance advisor, he transitioned into roles as compliance analyst, risk manager and senior risk manager. Notably, Mr. Warren led the development of a national language processing search engine at Capital One, underscoring his technical acumen and commitment to advancing industry best practices.

In addition to his corporate achievements, Mr. Warren co-founded and co-owned Doc’s Socks LLC from 2009 to 2018, demonstrating entrepreneurial initiative and business acumen outside the financial sector.

Highly educated, Mr. Warren’s academic foundation was established with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Florida in 2008. He then received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from William & Mary Law School, conferred in 2011, which provided him with a comprehensive understanding of legal principles relevant to regulatory compliance and risk oversight. From there, Mr. Warren acquired an Executive Master of Business Administration from Quantic in 2023.

While pursuing his law degree, Mr. Warren clerked for Carrie Feit PA in 2009 and served as a summer extern at LeClairRyan in 2010. He also completed coursework in international comparative law, focusing on the U.S. and Japan, at Keio University Law School in 2010. Earlier, Mr. Warren served as an economics tutor and teacher’s assistant from 2006 to 2008, while working toward his undergraduate degree.

Mr. Warren was admitted to practice by the New Jersey Bar Association. He has further distinguished himself through professional credentials, including certification as a regulatory compliance manager from the American Bankers Association and a certification in gamification from Coursera.
