Earlier in his career, Mr. Anderson co-founded Ancor Communications Corporation. From 1987 to 1999, he guided the company through critical phases of growth and technological evolution, establishing it as a key player in designing systems for computer networking and high-speed communication switches. Mr. Anderson also founded General Logic Corporation in 1978 and led the organization until 1986. His work there centered on developing computer-based specialty controls.
Among other notable roles, Mr. Anderson co-founded Anderson Cornelius Inc., where he designed computer-based process control systems for 10 years, starting in 1986. Additionally, he co-founded Comstar Corporation, where he designed computer-based production control systems from 1973 to 1975, and co-founded Compace Controls Corporation, designing computer-based control systems between 1970 and 1973. Mr. Anderson’s entrepreneurial journey began with Drew & Co., Inc., which he co-founded in 1968 and led until 1969. His role involved designing and supervising the manufacturing of large material handling systems. Each of these ventures underscored Mr. Anderson’s ability to identify market gaps and deliver practical solutions that enhanced operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Mr. Anderson’s early career included his role as a lead at Rapistan Drew Mechanical Systems Inc. in 1967. Previously, he worked as a consulting engineer at T.E. Roche from 1964 to 1966. Mr. Anderson’s foundation began to take shape in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense while serving in the U.S. Air Force between 1960 and 1964. His military experience instilled discipline and a problem-solving mindset that would become hallmarks of his professional approach.
Academically, Mr. Anderson completed coursework at the University of Minnesota, which provided him with a strong foundation in engineering principles and analytical thinking that have underpinned his many achievements. He is also recognized as a licensed commercial pilot.
