Mr. Dessart, recognized for his notable career in learning and development, has been excelling as the chief executive officer and consultant at The Genesis Group in Wisconsin since 2020. In this capacity, he has led the faith-based organization, focusing on innovative talent strategies and leadership development, and guiding clients through transformative growth through consulting. Over the past five years, Mr. Dessart has guided The Genesis Group to become a recognized leader in its field, drawing on two decades of professional experience.
From 2021 to 2025, Mr. Dessart was the senior manager of talent and learning at Charter Manufacturing in Mequon, Wisconsin. During his tenure, he was instrumental in designing and implementing comprehensive learning programs that enhanced organizational performance. Mr. Dessart also held the title of senior manager of learning and development at Allegheny Technologies Inc. (ATI) in Cudahy, Wisconsin, between 2017 and 2020.
Mr. Dessart’s earlier career included an extensive tenure at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc., where he held several key positions over more than a decade. He initially joined the company as a human resources career management specialist in 2004. He then transitioned into the role of human resources organization development and learning specialist before becoming a human resources organization development learning lead. Mr. Dessart’s progression at Harley-Davidson continued, earning the title of human resources learning manager, responsible for developing training curricula across multiple business units. He then spent several years as a human resources manager for global leadership learning and development. Ultimately, Mr. Dessart became an organization and development manager for the Greater Milwaukee area, where he remained until 2017. Before his extensive career at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Inc., Mr. Dessart gained related experience from 1995 to 2004, which laid the foundation for his future contributions in organizational leadership.
Mr. Dessart’s academic background included earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in organizational leadership from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 2005. His pursuit of higher education was motivated by a desire for fulfillment after beginning his career at Harley-Davidson on the assembly line and later moving into production roles. Seeking greater purpose, Mr. Dessart transitioned into engineering as a technician trainee before discovering his passion for learning and development, a realization that ultimately led him to pursue his degree at Marquette University.
Beyond his degree, Mr. Dessart’s educational achievements have been complemented by several industry credentials. He holds designations as a project management associate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, an MBTI-certified instructor through Myers-Briggs, and, among others, an insights-certified practitioner from Insights España.
Mr. Dessart is an active member of the Association for Talent Development and the Society for Human Resource Management, reflecting his commitment to ongoing professional growth and industry engagement. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is dedicated to civic engagement through volunteer service with organizations such as The Salvation Army, where he serves food during Christmas breakfast for people experiencing homelessness. He has also been affiliated with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul Church, and the Veterans Community Center in Milwaukee, supporting and donating food and clothing. Additionally, Mr. Dessart has volunteered as a football coach with the East Troy Gridiron Club, as a volunteer coach to the East Troy Wrestling Club and the East Troy Baseball Club, and as a mentor within his church’s marriage ministry.
In light of his recent success at Charter Manufacturing, Mr. Dessart collaborated with another organization to co-design a program that received both the gold Brandon Hall Award and the CLO Gold Award in 2024, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Looking ahead, Mr. Dessart aims to expand The Genesis Group with an emphasis on promoting the message of Christ within the corporate world by bringing more faith-based individuals into the business and enhancing its offerings. He remains committed to demonstrating that it is possible to maintain strong faith while achieving success in corporate environments.
