Mr. De La Mora has established a long and successful career spanning three decades in the technology and telecommunications sectors, with a particular focus on business development and project management across the Americas and Europe. He is currently a senior project manager at GCO at Verizon, a position he has held since 2022. In this capacity, Mr. De La Mora manages the private wireless network, coordinating with internal teams, customers and vendors to establish new network subnets as needed. His expertise in integrating technology into the business sector has been instrumental in driving organizational success.
Initially hired by the wireless company in 2016, Mr. De La Mora worked as a business development manager for Connected Communities in Irvine, California, until 2024, during which he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint for next-generation technology and fostering strategic partnerships across North America and beyond.
Before his tenure at Verizon, Mr. De La Mora excelled as a technology broker at MDM, LLC, in San Diego, California, from 2012 to 2016. There, he leveraged his deep understanding of emerging technologies to help companies in South America enter the U.S. and Canadian Markets.
Among Mr. De La Mora’s earlier experiences, he served as a regional sales manager for Latin America at u-blox, a Swiss semiconductor manufacturer, from 2010 to 2012. This position followed serving as the director of business development for wireless IFNA at Infineon Technologies AG, a German semiconductor manufacturing company, from 2005 to 2008. Earlier, Mr. De La Mora was the director of carrier relations at SMS.ac, a wireless telecom content developer, from 2004 to 2005.
Mr. De La Mora also worked for companies like Leap Wireless, now Cricket Wireless LLC, and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. He began his professional journey as an implementation manager at Motorola de Mexico in 1992, where he managed implementation projects that laid the foundation for his future leadership roles. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Mr. De La Mora has contributed as a collaborator to the Inbuild GPS Tracker for North America, providing real-time updates since 2013.
Mr. De La Mora’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso, completed in 1989, and a Master of International Management in computer systems, networking and telecommunications from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University, earned in 1996. Inspired by an early fascination with electronics that began when he was 5 or 6, Mr. De La Mora chose to pursue a degree in electrical engineering.
Adding to his professional success and commitment to advancing technology, Mr. De La Mora holds active memberships with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and MAES: Latinos in Science and Engineering.
Throughout his career, Mr. De La Mora has taken pride in mentoring elementary and junior high students by introducing them to career opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. He recognizes the importance of providing visible role models for young people from diverse backgrounds and is dedicated to helping them realize that success is attainable through perseverance and hard work.
Reflecting on his success, Mr. De La Mora attributes much of it to a lifelong passion for learning instilled by his parents, both school teachers, as well as his determination and strong social skills. His ability to engage thoughtfully with others and understand their perspectives has been central to his effectiveness as a leader. Looking ahead, Mr. De La Mora is eager to launch a startup and actively participate in business ventures in emerging artificial intelligence fields, a sector he believes will continue to attract talented individuals worldwide.
