Randy L. Wahl, Building Operations Manager at Bowman Gaskins Financial Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in Project and Operations Management.

Mr. Wahl has excelled in his career for more than four decades, with a tenure marked by leadership in commercial construction management, building operations, fire suppression technology and military service. Since 2017, he has served as a building operations manager for project management in commercial construction at Bowman Gaskins Financial Group, currently overseeing more than five commercial buildings to ensure operational excellence and tenant satisfaction. In this capacity, Mr. Wahl oversees tenants’ daily needs, addresses concerns and coordinates with personnel to resolve issues efficiently. His responsibilities extend to managing building systems, such as boilers, chillers, air handlers and HVAC units, as well as developing and supervising build-out plans for new tenants.

Before being acquired by Bowman Gaskins Financial Group, Mr. Wahl served as the U.S. and international sales manager for TetraKO in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a manufacturer of a leading fire suppressant agent, from 2013 to 2015, where he managed several corporate-level properties. Between 2011 and 2013, he excelled as the superintendent at Harvey Cleary Builders in Washington, D.C., where he managed construction projects, oversaw more than 200 employees, and ensured adherence to quality standards and timelines. Mr. Wahl’s expertise in project oversight contributed significantly to the successful completion of various commercial developments.

From 1998 to 2010, Mr. Wahl worked as a central area sales manager at Waterous Company in Minneapolis. His territory spanned from Manitoba and Ontario to the Gulf of Mexico. He collaborated closely with manufacturers, fire departments and dealer networks while teaching vocational-level courses on fire suppression and foam technologies.

Mr. Wahl’s commitment to public safety was exemplified early on by his more than two-decade tenure with the Chanhassen Fire Department, ultimately retiring as an assistant fire chief in 2011. Equally distinguished was his military career. Enlisting at age 17, he dedicated over a decade to military service. Between 1983 and 1997, Mr. Wahl served in the Minnesota Army National Guard Reserve as a survey crew chief for the 1/125th Field Artillery Battalion, instructor for the 5042 U.S. Army Reserve unit, electronic repair specialist for the 134th Forward Support Battalion and crew chief for the 1/125th Field Artillery Battalion.

Mr. Wahl’s educational background includes an Associate of Applied Science in fire science and firefighting from Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and an associate degree in electronics technology from Brown Institute in Minneapolis. He also holds Fire Fighter I and II certifications from Hennepin Technical College.

Actively involved with several civic organizations, Mr. Wahl is affiliated with the American Legion Riders, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Elks Lodge and The American Legion, and is influential on the board of the Sons of the American Legion. He volunteers and donates clothing and other items to several of these nonprofits annually. During his tenure as a firefighter, Mr. Wahl also served as the president, secretary and board member at large for the Chanhassen Fire Department Relief Association for over 20 years.

Among various accomplishments throughout his career, Mr. Wahl played a pivotal role in advancing cornstarch-based organic fire-suppressant technology. The product, Phos-Chek, utilized diammonium phosphate that adhered to surfaces and was both durable and biodegradable. Its environmentally friendly properties allowed it to be safely applied to homes, vegetation and even rivers without harming aquatic life.

Mr. Wahl was recognized early in his military career as a Battalion Noncommissioned Officer of the Year in 1990. His upbringing on a farm in southwest Minnesota instilled a strong work ethic rooted in problem-solving and adaptability, qualities that have underpinned his professional success across multiple fields. Looking ahead, Mr. Wahl hopes to return to consulting while expanding his involvement in project management and building management. His goal is to broaden his impact by overseeing additional commercial properties and contributing further innovations within his field.
