Since 2019, he has prospered as a database administrator with eReinsurer.com, Inc. in Salt Lake City, a leader in reinsurance, or the practice whereby insurers transfer portions of their risk portfolios to other parties by some form of agreement to reduce the likelihood of paying a large obligation resulting from an insurance claim. Reinsurance allows insurers to remain solvent by recovering some or all amounts paid to claimants.
Mr. Peterson’s passion for creating and building led him to work for 12 years in construction as an ironworker before going back to school to pursue a career in programming. He later transitioned to database administration, which has occupied his time for 15 years. As aa career highlight, he cites his work with Galileo Financial Technologies, LLC. When the company found itself entangled with difficulties migrating its data to Oracle database, he wrote the script that converted all its data into the database, facilitating the process.
In the coming years, Mr. Peterson is looking to engage more with the consulting aspect of the information technology field. He is anticipating being able to scale back his work duties to a certain extent so that he can spend more time enjoying the outdoors. He also sees himself keeping busy by continuing to do construction work in his home.
